There's actually people in the Habs fanbase that wanted to trade Caufield for this guy just because he's French Canadian.

He was supposed to be IT and Kakko was supposed to be really good too. Crazy they're still competitive while completely whiffing on those two picks.

Rangers are a terrible organization at developing good young talent. Think about it, what is the last elite forward they have drafted and developed. As long they have the philosophy of always signing big name free agents and over relying on veteran players, they never be good at player development.
