ESPN still needs to do more promotion for hockey. There's no reason Connor McDavid isn't getting multiple looks on the front page of ESPN.com. What he's doing is fukking incredible and anybody who's into professional sports should know his name and what he's doing.

The Bruins are having an all-time season. There's a bunch of American stars breaking out like the Hughes brothers, Jason Robertson and Tage Thompson not to mention last year's MVP, Auston Matthews.

It's not gonna happen overnight but I feel they're putting in the bare minimum effort.

Both ESPN and TNT need to work on their scheduling too. There were WAY too many games with Chicago, Detroit, Anaheim, San Jose, Arizona, Philly and Columbus.

That’s why NHL should give TNT and ESPN more a say in scheduling imo. You don’t need to schedule next season by the end of June. I say announce it late July once free agency slows down. But this is Bettman’s NHL so smart thinking isn’t allowed lol

I don't like Drance but he's right here. Tocchet rode his best players down the stretch of meaningless games against trash opposition. Now they're gonna finish 11th in the Lottery standings instead of top 6-7. :snoop:

those ratings are atrocious
982 on ABC? :picard:

And yeah espn is blowing it, this season you got like 5 guys with 50 plus goals, two guys with 60 plus goals, 12 guys with over 100 points. And all these guys are under 30

I think the league and the players need to be held responsible as well. Yes, ESPN and TNT need to improve on marketing and promoting their stars, but so does the league. Look how MLB, NFL, and NBA have gone out of their way to promote offense, NHL is still stuck in the 90s in mindset for the most part and just now slowly embracing analytics. The players themselves have to want to show off personality and be seen beyond the games. I definitely want to see a Jack Hughes, Jason Robertson, and Matthew Tkachuk in national brand ads like Gatorade, State Farm, and Subway. But players themselves got want those opportunities and show these companies that hockey players can be great spokesmen and brand ambassadors.

Who do you guys have going to the finals? I am thinking Oilers vs. Bruins 1990 rematch.

The Oilers will be very hard to beat in a 7 game series

Ever since they got elkholm team has won like 17 and lost like twice.

They also have the greatest powerplay of all time at 33 percent which is ridiculous
Ekholm is +28 in 21 games with Edmonton. :mindblown:
