Damn! Was it the numbers? Was it the Fat Joe curse lol

Either way seems like they are pausing it for now. Hopefully they come back better than ever.

suspending indefinitely is the type of shyt politicians say when they're dropping out of the race altogether.

These award shows are not coming back.

And speaking of Paramount, let’s talk about that $16 million payment to Donald Trump. That money was reportedly part of a settlement for a lawsuit related to a 60 Minutes interview. But here’s the kicker: this payout happened while the FCC was actively reviewing the Skydance merger deal. Former CBS anchor Dan Rather called it a “sell-out to extortion.” Others fear it sets a terrifying precedent for press freedom. Hundreds of creatives, including directors like Spike Lee and writers from the WGA, signed a letter denouncing the move as a betrayal of journalism and free speech.

So when you look at the BET Awards going silent, BET+ on life support, and a parent company caught in political crossfire with Trump—you have to ask: Is our media being compromised?

We'll have to see but this is from the original billboard article.

"I would say that it’s less about them being no longer and more about our team having to reimagine them for this changing media landscape that we find ourselves in. I think what we’re going to see are more people taking franchises and saying, “This might have started on linear television, but now I’m going to move it to another space. Do I move it to streaming? Or do I move it to another platform?” So for BET linear, we have suspended the Soul Train and Hip-Hop award shows. But we have a team that’s actively thinking about where those award shows might best live as the media climate continues to evolve. They aren’t gone. And we also still have the NAACP Image Awards and the Stellar Awards."
