SF looked suspect. They’re very beatable. Lions have been good on the road this year.

Give Gibbs the rock. He’s a faster CMC without the wear and tear

Curious if Purdy will challenge downfield. Dinking and dunking is exactly what lions want you to do.

No matter what. This a successful ass season. Lions still have a bunch of cap space and all their draft picks

What a win. So proud of this team. So proud of this coaching staff. And what better way to win than Barnes getting that INT. Our last two coaching staffs were not teaching players, making them better, or anything. You were either good or discarded. Barnes is the type of guy who would have been discarded at the bottom of the roster by Patricia or Caldwell. But this staff keeps working on guys and putting them in positions to win. I love it.

Jared Goff earned his contract folks. That convo is over, this is his city and team.

Brad Holmes is a genius man. All the shyt he took for the draft and those first four picks all played key roles in this. Branch was lights out, Gibbs broke that game open for us. LaPorta played amazing. Beyond this draft, seeing Iffy level up like this has been stunning. The amount of young talent we have is crazy.

BTW Gardner-Johnson now has 2 INTs since returning in the last game of the season (three games total).

SF is better than us but vulnerable. We'll see what happens, I'm not expecting a win. The best thing about this? It's gonna crystalize the holes we need to plug in the offseason. CB1, another rusher alongside Hutch, another guard (Jonah Jackson is prob gone folks). We got the cap money, we got the draft picks, we got Brad Holmes. Feels good man.

I’m ready to eat crow if he can pull it off. If not the city deserves a Lamar esqe QB

Yeah, they have to give him a contract in the offseason. He's done it in the playoffs like we wanted to see.

@Regular_P listened to some of the post game with Goff and Campbell saying the gameplan was to use the pass to open up for the run. While I "get" that...outright abandoning the run for such long periods of time almost killed us. Especially on that drive towards the end where we quickly got to mid field and suddenly just stopped running. That should have been a drive that ended in an easy FG to put us up 11.

Glad we got the win but boy...it's time to get back to basics against San Fran. Their secondary isn't great but after watching the Packers run all over them....we have to establish that early.

You can use the pass to open up the run but at one point it was 29 passing plays to 9 running plays. That is an unacceptable ratio, especially when a lot of those throws were on 2nd/3rd and short.

Agreed 100%. We won, those three TD drives in a row were amazing etc but I'm not gonna miss Ben Johnson unless we just hire an abject bum to replace him. Being too cute and playing 4D chess will get you beat against good teams in this league. And it sure as fukk will get you buried in San Fran. So run the ball...

Flip side I've been very impressed by Aaron Glenn. I think he's gone after the playoff success but if he stays we'll finally get to see what this looks like with actual CBs. Sutton in a clear CB2 role would ensure he gets safety help more consistently, and adding a legit pass rusher alongside Hutch would improve secondary play as well. I can really see the blueprint for greatness on defense next season.

Holmes has been very open about what he wants in drafts: highly productive college players who love football. He has no interest in athletic freaks who don’t produce, or guys who take plays off. And when you look at our recent drafts VS Philly I think you see how this plays out, Jordan Davis looks sloppy and out of shape. Jalen Carter is still taking plays off and constantly gets rattled mentally. There’s still time for them to turn it around obviously but I think Holmes made the right decision…

Based on the blueprint Holmes has displayed I think we can guess who he’s gonna love in the late first round in April. Chris Braswell, Cooper DeJean, Graham Barton, Quinyon Mitchell, Bralen Trice, Terrion Arnold, Kool-Aid McKinstry. We’ll see how the board shifts but I feel damn confident it’ll be one of those guys.
