McDaniels only experienced name mentioned so far :patrice:

I don't care about experience as much as I care about philosophy and coaching tree. Damn near every time somebody gets a job from the Rams' staff they ball out as an OC despite not having play calling experience (since McVay calls the plays). My preference is McDaniel but he's interviewing for head coaching spots right now. Wouldn't be stunned if he gets one of those openings.

I like Peetz and Martin. Especially Peetz with his experience in an offense that has a bruising run game and great blocking. Is there some risk with a first time OC? Sure. But you have to trust your head coach to make that call. He's fukked this up twice but I'm willing to believe that no play caller would have made this work consistently with a bottom 10 center (Glasgow). Bring in a legit center and we'll be cooking again.

watching 3 playoff games so far. Our defense is slow as shyt. Jack Campbell and Hutch only standouts.

And Branch and Kerby. Alim before injury (I think he'll be back to normal next season).

Thing that stands out the most this weekend is the hand usage and activity of d-lineman. How many times do you see our d-line do a stunt, get stonewalled by the o-line, and just hold space. There isn't much violence from our guys and I think most of that is related to coaching. They're so focused on containing QBs in the pocket that pressuring a QB seems secondary. Because if you pressure the QB might escape, so our guys sit back and just slowly suffocate the pocket until there's nowhere to run. The problem is...when you play man defense you give QBs all time to find someone open. And every good QB is gonna eat in that situation.

The other thing: secondaries that get away with handsy coverage because the d-line is constantly forcing errant throws

You realistically only get a couple shots at being head coach. Ben Johnson was smart and waited for best opportunity. Bears team was loaded with talent when he took job. McDaniels needs to do same thing. Atlanta only team on that list that makes sense depending upon how good Penix actually is. Lions probably second best opportunity. So much talent to pad his resume for perfect job. Ravens on the way down, Browns are so dysfunctional, Titans is a full rebuild.

I like Shep. Alot fans on social media turned on at end of season. Defense was playing well until the secondary died. Could definitely see him being a Tomlin like coach someday

Miami needs a culture change. They ran Fangio out of town to the eagles because he "coached too hard". I imagine someone from Campbell's tree would coach just as hard.
