This David Montgomery thing is so weird. It sounds like Holmes is shopping him, which I'm not opposed to but I'm not sure there's a short term option that's better (in the draft, for instance). A few teams are looking hard for RBs right now and it seems like Holmes is angling for something. If you're Houston for instance, who are looking for a starter, this has to be enticing. Do you take a 4th or 5th rounder for Monty if you're Holmes? I'd probably do it. We'd have a lot of draft ammo to move up in the draft and get a third round pick.

Holmes also pretty much said they're giving Decker space but making it clear they need to know what his plans sooner rather than later.

I’d still draft a tackle early if one is available simply because we may not be drafting at 17 again anytime soon. Or if possible trade down a bit and draft Monroe Freeling or Caleb Lomu, two tackles who are viewed as needing a year to develop.
