Big game this week against the Bills.

After the first game against the Raiders, the Pats offense has been executing at a pretty high level. They moved the ball up and down against the Phins and scored 30+pts. Went up and down and dominated the Steelers but turnovers twice at the goal line and another 3 times in Steelers territory screwed them (they should have scored 30+ against the Steelers). And then did the same against the Panthers but this time did not turn the ball over and scored 40+ points.

Rush defense has been good (we're ranked #2). Pass defense has been suspect but we got Gonzo back this past week and that should help quite a bit.

The test this week will give us a good idea whether this team is legitimately a playoff contender or not. Even if we lose, they have to show that they can compete.

Sidenote: McDaniels, as much as he's failed as a HC, he's an elite OC. Maye looks like a different QB and looks more decisive.

The offense has certainly looked better. I do hope they find ways to get Henderson and some playmakers involved more. Even getting Marcus Jones some snaps on offense could be a great option.

I have very few issues with the defense so far. Going against the Bills will be a tall task.

There's no reason why this team can't compete for a playoff spot. McD has Maye looking like a legit QB. He's looked great since week 2. The defense has enough talent to compete and they make great in game adjustments.

Should only get better.

The offense looked better, and Maye made some great plays. I was actually maybe more impressed with the defense. Allen is maybe the most dangerous QB in the NFL, and this defense held its own.

I think Maye showed last season the talent that he has, and it was showcased last night to a national audience. I'm not going to say the Patriots are a team that's going to be a deep playoff run team, but I do think they can make the playoffs IF THEY TAKE CARE OF THE BALL! That Steelers game stings as the Patriots played better than the Steelers, but turned it over too many times.

Gonzo make a MASSIVE difference, and Williams showed up on defense last night too. Was great to see.

Rham has to work on ball security. He's the best RB we have and he should always get majority of carries. Vrabel is anti Belichick in that Belichick would have sent Rham to the abyss and not play him until next year. Vrabel's gonna play him and keep believing in him (he still fumbled last night too:snoop:)

Our LBs are the weakness imo. Ellis is not a starter and Gibbens is only slightly better. Spillane is okay but dude misses so many tackles. Tavai coming back will help but Vrabel needs to get Mapu some snaps. At least he gives us speed at LB.

Milton signing was a homerun. Him and Barmore are tearing it up. Landry signing was also a homerun. Gonzo and Davis at CB is as good a tandem as there is in the league imo.

AFC looks like it's wide open. We got 11 rookies playing significant snaps so we will see how this team looks after Thanksgiving but it's looking pretty good.

I think they are a top 4-6 team in the AFC.

Chiefs, Bills, possibly the Chargers, and a healthy Ravens team.

Broncos look good too. Good roster and good coaching. Can't count that out.

Ravens have the talent but man, here in MD, everyone is calling for Harbaugh's head. This season could turn quickly into a disaster if they don't start winning games. It's about as toxic as it was in NE during Belichick's last few years.

Chiefs should be the favorites imo. They still have the best QB, elite coaching, and the pedigree. Worthy coming back made a huge difference and they're gonna get Rice back too.

Lets Get these Ws and hopefully Kraft can approve some additions at the deadline. Another WR to add to Diggs, we have a chance at winning 12 games. Williams, Spillane, Campbell unsung heroes.

The future is here.

Drake Maye looked excellent today, and I was glad to see Douglas involved more. I really like the way Maye has been protecting the ball, moving in and out of the pocket, and able to make the big throw. I believe he's already exceeding expectations.

The defense needs to step it up though. It may have just been a poor game for them, but they need to be better than yesterday.

If the Falcons can beat the Bills tonight, it's on for the AFC East.:mjlit:.

Maye has made Pats appointment viewing again

It's still early, but it really do look like the Patriots hit home-runs on their last two first round draft picks.

I never root for the Patriots to lose, but winning that game against the Bills in week 18 probably cost them a first round pick or more. You never know how things could play out, so I'm happy with where they are, but they likely would have been able to get a haul from the Titans or Jaguars.

Putting Lamar aside for a moment, his second year performance is arguably the most impressive out of the remaining in the top ten there. Purdy and Mahomes both had much better weapons on paper than Maye during their second seasons. I'm not saying Maye is better than they were then or is performing at a higher level, but it's damn impressive what he's doing so far.

So far defenses are selling out to stop the run and daring Maye to beat them with his arm and he's been carving them up. We'll see if defenses will adjust but I expect if they do, our run game is gonna open up more.

Diggs has been great so far. Even the games where he hasn't had huge offensive production, you don't hear him complaining or causing issues. I'll admit I'm someone who has said he is probably the biggest malcontent WR in the NFL, but he's not been like that this year. I would love to see A.J. Brown or NFL Youngboy in a Patriots uniform next year.

It's still early in the season, but I think the only team I would favor over the Patriots in the AFC without a second thought are the Chiefs. I think the Patriots can match up well with every other AFC team. A healthy Ravens team may be a different story, but I don't trust them at all with Harbaugh.
