when KAT and D'Lo were together, their defense sucked. When they got Conley, everything changed with KAT defensively. I think they really believed Bridges would mitigate some of Brunson's shortcomings but anyone who watched him in Brooklyn knew Bridges wasn't as good as advertised defensively.
Bridges is fine. Defense isn’t about getting EVERY stop. Mikal doesn’t get COOKED consistently. He could be prime Pippen or Kawhi, but if I want to get you off me to attack Brunson, there’s not much you can do about that.

idk that last series Mikal and OG looked great out there. KAT was able to hold his own too but it was OG/Mikal that was giving guys fits.

These games have been close, (and they are letting Brunson get fouled a lot and not giving him calls) but a lot of this series to me looks like the pacers are just fully committed to attacking Brunson and KAT and are better at swinging the ball to force that mismatch. its a quick swing too when both of them are on the floor.

It’s so fukking obvious, I’m dying to know what’s said in the locker rooms.

Oh yeah he has to grow as a PG, they also need to get a better back up PG, but that is another conversation.

HIlarious that they said this about Melo. They said this about Randle. And lo and behold, we have arrived at the point where Brunson's game style have wore out its welcome. In the middle of the most successful season we've had in 25 years.

I'm not saying it's false or true. It's Curb Your Enthusiasm level hilarious, nonetheless.

:russ:

Can someone actually look this up, though?

I didn't say Bridges wasn't a good defender, but he's not the guy who was all-defense first team in 2022.

Depth issues go without saying. With Rosas as your GM, he strongly believes in 1 guard, 3 wings, 1 big. Nobody has told Rosas that 3 wings can be elite for their size defensively and it can't make up for Brunson and KAT.

I mean this series probably did. They also probably thought he could be hide like the Wolves but between this and that Dallas series I don’t know. Lowkey Brunson being here is providing enough doubt overall they should be able to get good value for KAT

This falls primarily on Thibs. He has to reign in Brunson if he's calling constant isos, or come up with different plays to get Jalen the ball where he's not dribbling for 15+ secs. Run more plays for Bridges mid range, run more plays for KAT to get open 3s or a mismatch in the post.

No adjustments are being made. Knicks have made it this far on pure talent.

I don’t think the Bucks are going to send Giannis here. KD is a PG-13 situation waiting to happen.

The only trade that could make sense for this roster is you send KAT out for 2-3 guys Thibs would actually play. I also think it would have to be a multi team trade cause no one team has what we would to fix our roster to spare.

Cause the Knicks need a back up Center (if KAT is traded), a back up pg, another forward (if KAT is traded), and a secondary scorer (if KAT is traded)
