man look, there's exhaustive searches and wide nets and then poaching. If they coulda got any of the coaches they tried to lure away, they woulda had a new coach by now, simple and plain.

If Rosas coulda got his boy Finch, Finch would be coach right now (since that's kinda how he got Finch in the first place). Snyder, Donovan, whoever.

Where the media isn't cutting the Knicks slack is twofold:

1. They're naturally pissed at Dolan for cutting off access to them.

2. They don't think there's anyone good enough to replace Thibs.
Just peeped the Rojas and Finch thing.

How fukking stupid trying to poach off some political nepotism shyt.

He wasn’t good for us struggled with consistency from what I remember. But it seems like he got done super dirty I also don’t think there is anything regular about the Knicks head coaching search as much as people want to cape and pretend it’s just “anti-Knicks bias” and “Knicks 4 Clicks”. The last year or so of the front office has been ehhhhh.
I’m inclined to agree. This is such a big summer for them cause last summer could be viewed as a huge inflection point for a front office that was as near flawless as you can be up until that point. If everything goes wrong, that’s going to be considered the beginning of the end.

You sound like me describing the hiring practice they did for Thibs. It was Nepo as fukk, with everyone basically knowing Thibs was the guy they were going to hire before he got hired.

One tidbit about Jenkins is that he lost the locker room even dating back to when Dillon Brooks was there. I think it's pretty safe to say that Brooks is a really good ball player so it's funny that Jenkins was the coach during that time where the front office singled out Brooks as the problem. Kind of a red flag.

I don’t recall what the process was as far as I remember Thibs was an FA and was a pretty obvious hire for what was at the time a rebuilding team lacking culture. We interviewed other guys too. What that Thibs is CAA? Maybe so but he was also probably the best coach available.

What the Knicks did in reaching out to Udoka is the equivalent of Philly trying to poach Thibs after firing Doc Rivers.

Brooks was an inefficient gunner dude was terrible offensively in Memphis it’s his defense and toughness that kept him on the floor.

For the things Knicks fans seem to want it seems like he’d be the hire. Younger, plays big rotation with less minutes for starters, 5 out, offensive system with advanced spacing and cutting concepts. Jenkins at least last season used P&R the least of any team in recent memory on purpose I don’t know if Knicks fans would welcome that.

Yup. He lost the locker room and struggled with utilizing Ja.

If you go back to the thread from then it was an open secret Thibs was the hire. As soon as Leon was hired reporters were saying “he is going to hire Thibs”.

What the Knicks did wasn’t against the rules, so it doesn’t matter.

Apparently the offense Memphis ran wasn’t even his offense. The front office forced him to hire assistants and he ran their offense. His offense before that used P&R but was mediocre in the half court. This drew a wedge between him and Ja. This dude got done pretty dirty and he’d be treated like a puppet by shrewd, cold front office people like Leon Rose and WWW.

Well, he didn’t play your boy Keon Ellis.

The skinny is the same like it is with coaches fired. The same complaints about adjustments, line ups, being stubborn, some guys on the team that wanted Mike and some didn’t. Like Thibs he brought winning and culture. He was more of a defensive coach but became more offense centric on the Kings where they played at high pace with a lot of ball reversal.

They started last season 13-18 and lost 5 straight (all at home). If that happens here shyt would be horrible. He went out on a low unlike Thibs who went out directly after the deepest run in franchise history of the last 25 years. Any way they fired dude while on the team plane after speaking to the media did him dirty.

Brown been around a long time, .599 career RS win %, coached the greats LeBron, Kob, won 4 rings as an assistant on the dynasty Warriors and Spurs he’s going to have the leg up over Jenkins.
