what I'm saying is if there isn't a role within reach for an older prospect, don't draft an older prospect.
Why not? He was one of if not the best player available. A first round value.

Not playing a lot your rookie year doesn’t mean he won’t have a bigger role in the future.

His age don’t mean shyt…Terrence Shannon is older, bigger, and nicer and played less than Kolek. Still a rookie that’s has to earn his spot.

The Knicks don’t have room for a lot of moves. Kolek will have a bigger role and Deuce will be relied upon a lot.

U think because this dude is old he should be back up point off rip on a team with title aspirations? No, it doesn’t work like that.

Kolek/Deuce isn't a championship reserve back court

What makes you think he hates them? Dadiet praised him after he was fired.

Jimmy Butler averaged 8 minutes his first year under Thibs by year 4 he was one of the best wings in the league.
Jimmy was behind a lot of guys his rookie year on the best regular season team in the league.

By the following year, Rose was out, Rip played less, Korver was gone and opportunity presented itself. Opportunities to be on the floor won't ever appear when the coach was petrified to empty the bench even during blowouts. The clincher against Boston did a lot more to hurt Thibs than he could have imagined because Mazzulla tapped out in the 3rd quarter and Thibs was still subbing in OG late in the 4th. That's the earmark of a coach who was never gonna change.

and now he's made Donte sort of expendable. Why? (and Finch is baby Thibs btw) because when his rosters got decimated he had no choice but to use him and he showed out-- didn't help that there were golden opportunities for him to play and he was hurt)

First, find a coach and we'll revisit how the roster construction will shake out. Maybe the new coach is more open to seeing what depth he has. We'll see.

Lol everyone knows Shannon can play if you’ve seen him. He was still behind vets. Kolek had his flashes too and is as of now our back up PG.

Lol no dude…Thibs helped Jimmy become one of the best wings in the league through a gradual progression two maniacs made for one another.

I didn't say Thibs didn't help Jimmy. I'm saying opportunities opened up (I'm a firm believer that your circumstances can help or hinder regardless of your own talent level), so if there's more PT that can be had, then he had a shot and ran with it. We call it garbage time, but when those benches empty, those players play cuz they know they might not see the court. Nobody was more hesitant to reach garbage time more than Thibs
