Yall gotta chill with the doom & gloom. It was 1 weekend, 2 bad losses. We still have the 5th best record in the league, and firmly in 3rd place in the east.
Yall gotta remember this is a marathon to win a championship. Look at how long it took for Boston to get over the hump. It took Denver & Milwaukee multiple seasons before winning. We're on schedule, we'll be alright.
Yeah, it's easy to forget that this team made massive roster changes in the offseason and this is Year One for this core of players. They've been together for half a season, and the FO hasn't had any real flexibility to fix the problems that they see...plus they haven't even seen the roster at full health yet.
The losses are frustrating, there are clear needs on the roster, but the time is on the FO's side. They have two All-NBA players, everyone but Bridges is signed through next season, and they still have some youth and picks to throw around if needed.
So, all of that is to say, I don't think this is a finished product. They'll probably work around the margins to try and get the depth we need and fix the defensive holes before locking Bridges in. Even if that setup flops, any decent GM can rework a roster when they've got All-NBA talent. They can flip those guys for talent or a rebuild; or they can keep those guys as reliable foundations to build around. Third in the East, tied for top-five in the league...and it's year one.
