Dude the franchise player isn’t coming off the bench. It’s an absurd proposition and completely disrespectful to Brunson. You can stagger them differently and at the end of the day they’re going to share the floor when it’s winning time.

OG had a career year as well not much more you can get him going.
You can't stagger them any other way that's going to be of benefit.

I've already made it clear that realistically it won't happen for obvious reasons, but it's the best method going forward. And yes, in the clutch, more often than not they will share the floor, which is why it's essential that by that time comes around every main player is playing in a state where they're their best self. We've seen enough that KAT and Brunson playing the majority of their minutes together doesn't work, largely because Brunson doesn't know how to utilize him properly, and he doesn't know how to utilize the rest of the starters properly either.

That's just a flaw in his game and that's okay because it can be mitigated. What good is the offense if only one player is allowed to be their best self?

That's why having another player who can be more of a connector to Mikal-OG-KAT is a necessity. It doesn't need to be some high-grade playmaker either, just someone who can feed them the ball and play defense. Not only will that be beneficial to Brunson from a workload standpoint, but it'll help create a pattern in which he can work in so he doesn't disturb the harmony of play, hopefully, assimilating better habits.
You don’t got to get a player better than KAT. KAT might be the second best player in this series behind Haliburton and the Knicks starting 5 is better than the pacers and it didnt work. They got to trade KAT for a couple of legit NBA players who Thibs will play.
Here you are acknowleding KAT is your best player in this series, but you think trading him will somehow bring better results?

:dwillhuh:

Trading him isn't going to fundamentally change what your team is and how Brunson operates. Furthermore, the new CBA trade laws will restrict you from trading him for two worthy players (especially if the other team breaks the 2nd apron threshold), so not only will it be finanically hard to get multiple players in return for him, but you're still likely going to be caught in a deficit where you won't have the appropriate spacing or you'll have too much crossover of skillsets with Mikal and OG already on the team.

You need a big man who spaces the floor if you want to trade KAT, and teams who know their worth won't give those type of players up so easily, especially if they're on team-friendly contracts. This is why I stress that spacing is gold, and having a big man who is 24k, well, you don't just give that up.

I think you just have to face facts and come to the realization that this core is the best you're going to get.

I refuse to believe that there isn't a better version of this team. We don't even run KAT/Brunson PnRs...

Brunson looking lost on defense. Obviously he doesn’t have the physical tools that some players do. But three times in the fourth quarter he screened his own man. On the game sealing shot he didn’t switch and left the shooter wide open.

OG and Bridges can’t finish in traffic. They need to get in the fukking gym. Bridges little turnaround shot is not high enough percentage to replace layups. OG has 0 finishing moves other than dunking when he’s wide open to the hoop. That’s a big gap in your wings game to not really threaten as a slasher.

KAT needs to cut down on the fouls but also… fukk the referees. KAT has the worst whistle I’ve seen since Embiid vs the Hawks. And he doesn’t foul bait like Embiid he barely foul baits at all. Really he needs to send an apology letter to the refs union for whatever happened that they all universally fukking hate him.

And Thibs gotta go. Whether or not Brunson wants to dribble dribble shoot every possession in the clutch, he’s clearly being enabled by Thibs. Thibs ego refusing to establish a modern offense is what really broke this team. Too many wasted iso ball possessions. Also beefing with Cam Payne and playing G Leaguers over him in key minutes. He’s gotta go. He can go coach a young lottery team to the second round of the playoffs but for a man who won’t encourage his players to pass the ball that’s his ceiling.

Bringing thibs back is illogical and makes zero sense. You give him a Ferrari just for him to drive it in 2nd gear and I’m supposed to be cool with it.
Offensive rating is fools gold especially after teams decided to guard Josh hart with centers in January. We were 20 something in offense since January and only held on to finishing at 7th cause we had a historic start.
Most used 5 man lineup in the league despite its mediocrity. Our starting lineup is the worst 5 man unit to play this much and make a conference finals since 2008.
The process has been horrendous all year and you caught up in unsustainable results that could easily make us first round exits next year.
We’ve spent as minimal time playing a true 5 out or true double big as possible and we’re expected to figure that out optimally in a conference finals when the starting lineup we been using was never figured out. Lmao
I’ve never seen a coach go out their way to not figure out roster combinations. This was a 60 win team that was dragged into forcing some semblance of “balance” cause of a coach that prioritizes the wrong shyt too much. This roster was never balanced. It was too heavy in offensive talent and we neutered it to basically build around Josh hart it seems lol
Never seen a dude play zero defense, be a liability on offense and yet plays the most minutes, even off the bench.
Priorities is why the team is where it is, and chickens came home to roost just a lil later than expected

Ya’ll making the same damn arguments people made for Donovan Mitchell and Brunson and it won’t work for the same reason.

Mikal should be the first person in talks to be moved.

Dude is completely allergic to contact and has passed up on reverse lay ups and slowed it down on fastbreaks all season. His shot selection is predetermined and he makes some real low IQ decisions. He’s a celly’ing front running cornball and I don’t like how he felt comfortable running his mouth to the media.

Plus he’s lost a step on defense.

His first season was like a C- largely bust of a move. :snoop:

Ok. What would a trade shipping Mikal out even look like? What could you get back?

Lol at this being a 60 win team :mjlol:
Your apologizing for thibs has been hysterical and borderline pathetic.

You ain’t held that old fukk nikka accountable for shyt meanwhile he gets to overuse his boy toy

Ain’t no other team left playing a josh hart.
A role player who can’t shoot, turns the ball over and doesn’t play defense we have to pay 20 million a year.
