That’s probably too flagrant. I was reading Myles Brown’s TL and he thinks every team has a set up similar to this with team sponsorships and the league would much rather this go away than have everyone’s books be opened up. I’d bet the Brunson contract slid through cause they could always excuse it as “he’s with family”.

IDK this is too blatant. The entire "If you leave the clippers for any reason this contract is expired" is the type of sloppy shyt you expect from a company that later gets targeted by the FEDS. I 100% think Silver wants this to go away, but it wont' I think he is going to just take picks away which sucks for the clippers cause they got no picks in the foreseeable future.

Also with Brunson, idk his pops is a coach getting paid but it I doubt it's like this. I legit think Brunson took that monetary loss to play with Bridges and KAT or Bridges Hart, DDV and Randle.

If the Knicks are doing anything, they are paying Rick Brunson more money then he would make elsewhere. Regardless, Dolan and the league been beefing so long that anything slightly suspicious would have been investigated a long time ago.

That is normal business. If Kawhi got this money and wore the companies logo and did some ad campaigns there would be nothing to see here. That’s why this is so sloppy. They didn’t need to do this like this.
Brunson is actually in the ads. The Clippers no show situation is different. On one hand they required nothing from Kawhi and on the hand they added a clause that if he left or was traded they would end the deal. Add to that fact the 50 mil came from Balmer and then 28 mil was directly allocated for Kawhi exclusively, and yeah they fukked up. They couldn’t have created a better paper trail to show an under the table deal if they tried.
There was multiple ways they could have done things legitimately and it seems they just didn’t. I would actually argue the Aspiration CEO was probably the reckless one, who ok’d that bullshyt contract, and the money washing payment plan, but it doesn’t matter. The paper trail is the paper trail and Kawhi had a no show contract. Balmer’s money was essentially washed through Aspiration to pay Kawhi for his no show contract. Maybe other teams operate like this, but they would have to be as dumb as the Clippers/Kawhi were if they did.
