Obviously 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, and Gravity are the favorites to win best picture, but I'm taking the dark horse with Dallas Buyers Club winning it. I think that film and it's two actors are on a roll and could end up winning four or five of it's six nominations this year. also Hollywood loves movies with the type of storyline that it has. 12 Years is the front runner in my opinion, but I'm going with Dallas in the surprise.

smh @ Barkhad Abdi not getting an NAACP Image Award nomination. The same committee that nominated Justin Timberlake for Social Network 3 years ago.

Old faggit Academy CACs gonna pass on Leo. :beli:

Leo just has bad luck when getting nominated. let's look back

- 1994 he SHOULD have won for "What's Eating Gilbert Grape", but the Academy rarely gives anyone that young the award.

- 2005 he could have and probably should have won for "The Aviator", but Jamie Foxx killed it in "Ray" and musical movies were the flavor of the year in 2004-2005 so the Academy gave it to Jamie.

- 2007 was Forest Whitaker's year for "The Last King of Scotland", but the Academy fukked up any chance Leo would have had by nominating him for "Blood Diamond" instead of "The Departed" that year. both were great performances, but "The Departed" was better (even the BAFTA Awards nominated him for it over "Blood Diamond")

personally I think that his best performance was in "Shutter Island" and that movie didn't get nominated for shyt.

I recognize the quality of the film and the craftmanship that went into it from directing to acting to screenwriting but it isn't my favorite movie (was actually a bit of a chore to sit through)...it is just the best made and acted movie nominated this year. Sometimes you have to separate the quality from personal preference.

I agree. I think it will win best picture (even though I'm picking an upset), it will win best supporting actress, and should win best director, but Jared Leto and MM were top notch in the acting categories in my opinion.
