few things...

The MC/Hypeman for the Dunk Contest has the worst job on the planet.

I refuse to believe ANYONE is actually friendly with Kevin Hart. he seems like someone's pest little brother who always hangs on the periphery of the crew acting like he's in.

After sticking up for this shyt for years, im finally out on it. I cant even get close to pumped for a slight variation on a dunk we've seen 30 times.

houston.
I thought the finals was great, both guys brought it. Ross deserved the W

Flight was a disappointment, then again he's 30.....just doesn't have that takeoff like he used to.

Bledsoe's 2nd dunk was nice, too bad his 1st dunk fukked him up or else he would have made it to the finals and perhaps win it all. I'd like to see him come back next year.

When Gerald Green cut the net off the iron, I was thinking to my head this nikka gonna fukk it up and lose :snoop: He's better than that.

I'm sorry but I hate watching big men in dunk contest. Wasn't too impressed with Faried's dunks.

just remove dunk contest entirely -- have horse take it over-- but a sort of quick format wit all the superstars (make it mandatory)..

keep dunk contest but make it amateur-- have tape b submited and take the best 6-8 guys

I don't like how they always leave out Jason Richardson on Slam Dunk.

His performance was better than Vince's. I still can't understand why they never mention him..maybe because he isnt a popular name in the league so they forget him.

its all about names.

it goes back to what people were in here criticizing the nba for in those jordan-related threads a few days ago.

you nikkas keep talking about having amateurs for the dunk contest, but that makes 0 marketing sense for the nba

it sure doesnt. but hey, letting barkley bury the contestants year-in & year-out before they even take the floor isnt profitable either. im all for keeping it real but barkley be on some "d*ckriding the stars" chit.

i dont expect the nba to let somebody come off the street and upstage the stars. i agree. if these dudes were really interested in these dunkers, they wouldve supported the sprite contest that they aired on nba-tv. but these dudes are all talk, and didnt even watch. now they dont air it anymore. at least nba-tv threw us a bone. lebron even hosted it last year.

Other than Bron who else could drum up the interest for the dunk contest that hasn't done it before already. There's only so many different variations of dunks that people can do. So unless they ultimately get some of the streetball trick dunkers to go against the NBA's best dunkers than the dunk contest is through as part of being the best part of All Star weekend.

I feel bad for James white... This was his moment to put his name in the national spot light and he dropped the ball.... Knicks probably kept him all year for this and now he's about to b cut. Not gonna lie when I saw the flight crew come out I was like:wow:

Re-watched the finals of the dunk contest this morning...it was quite good honestly.

nikkas goin' overboard with the scrap the dunk contest shyt

nothing innovative. i enjoyed the pure corn of the Jeremy Evans dunk, but everything else is played out. behind the back, under the legs, off the side of the backboard, jumping over dudes, free-thrown line... etc, etc. you can throw little variations in, but in the end, it's the same shyt over and over.

Maybe i was just younger and less jaded, but when i used to watch Vince Carter dunk, it feel new and worth the "OHHHHHHHH" reactions.

Honestly my favorite dunk of the past few years is probably still the Dwight Howard sticker dunk, and i dont know why. maybe it was his cheese smile, and it was before i hated seeing that dude's face. plus the height he got obviously.
