Avoid S1 and a lot of trivial shyt just gonna go over your head.

I typically think unless it’s a show like Black Mirror, TZone, or Room 13 where each ep is isolated and unique from the next.
You should always watch the previous seasons so you won’t be lost or get the full effects from the callbacks and payoffs that happen down the line
