8 seasons is a hell of a run and its good to see the show go out on its own terms. 10 episodes for the final season means that every episode should count and I see them going out with a bang.

I get him being impatient, but he just he wanted to work with the police and didn't want to risk going back to jail, only to give up that quickly. Things worked out well in the end though, with them getting the special task force and being able to wear their costumes
