I said it after the ALDS but it’s the same for the ALCS.

Amazing the guys who was on the field to end it all.

Pitchers: everyone was worried about who failed a physical with Baltimore and Atlanta

Catcher: No one ever scouted him and he only got a $7.5K payout the first time, and people constantly make fun of his short height and big weight
1B: $500M man who dominated this series
2B: Waiver claim and former Yankee
SS: Salary dump from Cleveland
3B: 28 year old minor league signing from Oakland
RF: Waiver claim from Tampa
CF: Chastised player from the Moreno/Gurriel deal
LF: Throw in Salary dump from Cleveland in a failed attempt to land Sasaki

Just a a group of misfits. And I didn’t go into all the one arms.

In 2025, the Blue jays were the Team with the best home record this season (58-29-regular season and playoffs combined) - home field advantage in this series paid off eventually
And the Team with the most come from behind wins this season ( 52 comeback wins- regular season and playoffs combined)

It was a foregone conclusion (after Hoffman struck out Rodriguez).

When Jeff Hoffman finally struck out the mariners lead off hitter , the ever dangerous and productive Julio Rodriguez. I felt so much relief, happy, joy, whatever

Game 7 Tonight was the Best moment as a Toronto sports fan this decade. It is the greatest moment in Toronto sports since game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals( Raps first ever chip )

And just like the raptors in game 6 of the ECF against the bucks 6 years ago, the blue jays won the AL pennant at home in front of their fans/ crowd.

And now go against a California team with multiple World Champion HOFers.
Jays went through Aaron Judge, a record breaking season from Cal Raleigh and now face the one and only Shohei Ohtani. If they pull this off...my Lord. And they won the first two series without Bo Bichette. What a team man
Kind of like the 2019 Raptors.

Yankees = mix of magic/Sixers. Performance/result wise, We dominated the Yankees in that series like we overwhelmed the magic in round 1 6 years ago . But the team identity of the Yankees and the personalities/careers of judge/Stanton remind me the Sixers and Embiid/Stanton, another high profile underachieving team with two star players .
Mariners = bucks (down 0-2 to the AL /nba MVP then coming back to win the series on home turf)

Dodgers = Warriors (self explanatory)

Beat Joel Embiid(Judge) and Jimmy Butler(Stanton).
Then came back from 2 down to win against nba MVP Giannis( AL MVP Cal Raleigh)
Then follow by beating the reigning Champ with Curry, MVP-Durant, and Klay.( dodgers with ohtani, betts, muncy, etc)
The raptors had home court advantage in the nba 2019 finals, and the jays will have home field advantage in the WS this year
Will the Jays follow the footsteps of the Raptors?

From this article :

“Springer’s home run was the first go-ahead homer while trailing by multiple runs in the seventh inning or later in Game 7 history”. :wow:

Springer dinger made history tonight

“The Blue Jays had played in only one Game 7 before in their 49-year history, a loss in the 1985 ALCS to the Royals”

Blue jays won their first ever game 7 in the MLB playoffs

It’s actually really cool to see a lot of American reporters and other media comment on how loud and electric our crowds are. For the longest time they never came here and just talked so much garbage about our market and now they realize ohh shy Toronto fans are so passionate, loud and proud

And credit to him, A-Rod has been extremely complimentary of the Jays and their fans all postseason.

At the beginning of the ALDS, he was very open about how intimidating of a place Toronto is to play when the crowd is rocking, especially with the roof closed given he experienced it in 2015 when the blue jays had their resurgence.

"Baseball is 9 on 9, but when the Jays are good it's more like 9 on 40 million"

I do think our pitchers will have a tough adjustment in the WS.

we just beat a undisciplined, wild, free swinging Mariners team in the playoffs whose hitters gave us free strikes/outs. But against the Dodgers I expect our pitching staff will struggle a lot more because the dodgers hitters are more patient, experienced, resilient, disciplined, they just don't give you free outs like that. They don’t swing at everything and they heavily wear pitchers down by working the pitch out as much as possible

Yeah...the talent that the Dodgers put into a lineup is immense with lots of good hitters who don't swing at as much junk as the Mariners hitters do. That's for sure.

This series is the classic example of why the new bullsh*t analytics of strikeouts being ok always catches up to you in the playoffs. Jays emphasize contact and getting on bases , while the Mariners rely on power and don’t mind with strikeouts. These teams who rely overly on power are always fool's gold in the playoffs. Ask the 2015-16 blue jays.

M’s pitchers were targeting springer by throwing wild pitches at him all series and M's fans at home were cheering Springer's injury and he was the one that ended their run. Poetic justice.

2025 Toronto vs Los Angeles World Series

Just like 32 years ago in 1993, remember that epic and classic Toronto vs Los Angeles Campbell conference finals

Vladdy is our Doug Gilmour
Springer is our Wendel Clark
Kirk is our Dave andreychuk
And shohei Ohtani is their Wayne Gretzky
Mookie Betts is their Jarri Kurri
Freddie freeman is their Luc Robitaille

The 2025 jays are similar to the 1993 leafs. A businesslike, easy to like working man’s team. Not the most talented but the most gritty, effective, productive, hard working and resilient one. As a team, their whole is greater than the sum of their parts. Not many stars but instead they have plenty of unsung heroes coming out of nowhere, playing and performing above their level with great execution and chemistry. A tough, gruff manager in John Schneider.

The 2025 dodgers are like the 1993 kings. Glamour, popular team playing in sunny LA. Deep, experienced and Stacked team with famous, popular and elite players at every position . But unlike the early 1990s Gretzky/Robitaille/kurri/rob blake kings of that era, the dodgers have already won some titles in recent memory and are heavily favorites to repeat as champions again. They are expected to win again easily.

1993 was the last year that a Canadian NHL Team won the Stanley cup

1993 was the last year the Blue Jays, a Canadian MLB team, won the WS

The coincidences are too spooky in October
