Roberto Alomar was banned from baseball by Major League Baseball (MLB) in April 2021 after an independent investigation found he violated MLB's sexual misconduct policy. The ban resulted in his termination as an MLB consultant and removal from the Toronto Blue Jays' Level of Excellence. The ban prohibits him from working for MLB, any club, or any minor league team, though his Baseball Hall of Fame plaque remains on display.

Strictly Based on his hall of fame career, and his central role in the 1992-1993 World Series championships, without his dishonorable conduct, he would have been an easy choice to pick for a ceremonial first pitch this year. No one can deny his talent with the bat/glove and his accolades on the field as a baseball player, but off the field, he seems to be a bad person according to many people.
