Jesus Sanchez brings so much needed speed to This lineup

We can steal bases again

It was one of our main weakness last year

We had slow runners on the base paths and We were one of the teams with the Least stolen bases in 2025

Jays haven’t been a base stealing team since the Rajai Davis days. I can’t imagine they’ll be that aggressive at stealing bases despite having additional speed.

Jays win 8-7 in the bottom of the 11th inning

Ernie clement walk off

And Nathan lukes score

It took more than a few months, but Toronto Blue Jaysmanager John Schneider received some words of wisdom on how to deal with his World Series Game 7 heartbreak from Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr.

It's not because Kerr took his time to reach out; it's because his handwritten letter, which was dated the day after the Blue Jays' loss to the Los Angeles Dodgersin the deciding game of the World Series, had been sitting on Schneider's desk at Rogers Centre during the offseason without the manager's knowledge.

Schneider said he saw the letter and opened it after the Blue Jays returned to Toronto following spring training.

"As I read it," Schneider told The Athletic, "I was like, 'holy shyt’

"I don't know you," Kerr wrote, according to The Athletic, "but I felt compelled to reach out after watching your incredible leadership on display during the World Series."

In the letter, Kerr compared Schneider's loss to the Warriors' Game 7 defeat in the 2016 NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

"The pain [in 2016] was real," Kerr wrote. "But what always survives through the tough losses is the character and connection of the group. The loss won't define you, but the way you and your guys carried themselves afterwards will."

Schneider, who was signed to a two-year extensionthrough the 2028 season last week, took Kerr's words to heart.

"It was the message we've been preaching all offseason and in spring," Schneider told The Athletic. "The run was great, and the heartbreak was real, but it's not going to define who we are. We all went through it together. What we're going to be defined by is how we persevere through it.

"... If he can see the good in what we did, it kind of gives you a little bit of reassurance that you're preaching the right things."

Bats are cold
So far after 8 games -Jays are 4-4 to start the year:

Bats are cold
We have many injured players( half of our starting pitching staff: Cody ponce, Shane Bieber, Trey Yesavage and our #1 catcher Alejandro Kirk)
We can’t hit, we often leave stranded runners on base and can’t score runs
Our bullpen is trash
We make a lot of bad throws and enforced defensive/fielding errors
But our starting pitchers are playing well

Early Reminders me of the 2024 season
But in 2024, David popkins was not our hitting coach
So i still have hope our hitters can turn it around before it’s too late. We’re still in early April anyway.

Terrible stretch
All eyes on this team this year, it will be harder to make the playoffs with that level of scouting, pressure and no more bichette

Yeah the rest of the league will be ready die is this season. We don’t have the element of surprise anymore. We came out of nowhere last year with unsung heroes like Lukes, Barger, Gimenez, Straw, Loperfido etc making unexpected and timely contributions. Springer turned back the clock to his prime years after he retired from defensive duties in the outfield and became a full time DH. He even won the silver slugger award in the American League as a DH last season.

They have the tape, the watch, every scouting report on us. They don’t want to see us in Valhalla so they will act accordingly to make sure it never happens again.
