it seems like a lot of supply issues have been getting ironed out, so hopefully it won't be too hard to get one of these cards for retail

Damn I just paid $1K for a RX 7900 XTX the other day. I'll have to return it to get this. A 5070 at $549 is CRAZY.

I'm already expecting the 5070 to be difficult to get due to scalpers and Nvida only sending a limited supply to retailers.
