So, there's like a Chinatown in every big city. You all go a lot? My last 2 girls were Asian, so I've been to a lot of spots in Houston (Chinatown is pretty big here, they have a Viet town too). What's your experience with Chinatown in your city? What are you eating?

I've had duck, brain, snail, duck's blood, all types of crab, crawfish all year round. Chinatowns are underrated by non-Asians

Houston is too actually. I mean it's not SF, but it's got a very large Asian population.

What did you eat?
Depends where I go. Been eating Japanese more so for the last 20 years then Chinese. My girl likes doing Korean BBQ a lot as well. We had this one little place called Dragon Center in Scarborough that made fire fried chicken with rice. That was a go to for years. Hidden spot so if you weren't local you never tried it. To be completely fair, I grew up in Scarborough which is a borough of Toronto, and it is known for having some of, if not the best international food in the world. shyt our hakka food and Chinese Caribbean food is crazy.

Yeah, I love Japanese. There are several world class sushi joints here. It's expensive as fukk, but worth it.

I've been to Korean BBQ and Japanese BBQ spots around here too. To be honest, I don't like to cook my food by myself at the table. I'd rather them make it, but it is kinda fun

There's this spot in Houston that got the best Viet food in the country in 2019. It's called Crawfish Noodle. They have crawfish all year round and all types of seafood and noodles. Viet Cajun crawfish is the shyt. Fish sauce wings is also good.

Asian food can be real good :blessed:

yeah, chi's chinatown comes in clutch. has many of the 3am/4am restaurants when you want a late night bite. shyt be flame. plus they got the asian clubs and bars that are cool too.
You know, I lived in Chicago for 2 years and never went to their Chinatown. I was dating a Jewish girl at the time and we got a lot of pizza and American food. Chi has some really good food :wow:

We just had Keith Lee review a Pho spot he said was the best pho hes ever had in his life. I'll try it over the summer. My wife is Filipino so Asian food is a regular for me. Sushi is her favorite, but here most sushi is made by Chinese people. The best spots are the ones where it's a small stall and one chef. You drink some beer, talk to eachother while he makes your rolls. Also never buy sushi on a Monday.

Hahaha, for real on the Monday thing.

My girl is Viet and she took me to a few Pho spots here. I was underwhelmed, unfortunately. We went to many Viet spots in Houston though. They do snail really well. I love how they do lobster too. They also do catfish real well. Also, this is a Houston thing maybe, but try Viet cajun crawfish. It's so good. You get the Viet flavors, mixed with Cajun spices. We got 2 places that do it, but Crawfish Noodle is the best.

I dated a Chinese girl for a few years in Houston. We got Hot Pot a lot, but I'm not a fan. The Bejing duck was real good though. I told her, I want the strangest food possible. She took me to a hole in the wall, where we had brain and congealed duck blood. The brain was pretty good actually, but I didnt' like the duck's blood.

We got a lot of great sushi spots here (like $500 a meal though). Uchi, Katami, Bloofin. I love hard to find sushi. I also like crudo a lot. You'll go broke if you go every week, but once a month at a good spot is :blessed:
