I think their next game should be Motorstorm and then a Driveclub 2 further down the line.

It's necessary to unlock certain cars BUT you don't need to be actually playing against other players to get points towards the club. you earn points from every mode. You'll see what I mean, it's not like your another cog in a wheel.

I really want to drive from cockpit view I just can't get jiggy with it though.

I drive in cockpit view depending on the car, track and time of day/weather condition. At night it's sometimes easier to drive with the cockpit or hood view.

I tried driving in 3rd person. And it didn't feel right. I think im to use to cockpit now.
