Whole series starts around the the murder of Jon Arryn, who little finger convinced Lysa to kill and blame the Lannisters for. That puts Ned in Winterfell since there's a need for a new hand, and Littlefinger schemes to get him captured and executed.
The Bron shyt was more dumb luck. Littlefinger used it to plant a knife and create more tension and get Tyrion captures though.

I think its because of EXACTLY that. He uploaded ALOT of information at once whereas the previous 3EyedRaven had (presumably) a number of years to go slow, perhaps retaining an element of his own humanity along the way. Tyrion was 100% right on that issue. If you want people to pledge allegiance to you the starting position can't be them on their knees being threatened. Throw those men in a cell and let them see that you're capable of sparing your enemies lives and possibly turning them into allies down the line.
