That's something that's almost taken for granted as being inevitable. It fits the maggy the frog prophecy, but it's so expected you can't help but feel like the showrunners might pull the swerve.

It's looking most likely that the winterfell battle (and defeat of the WWs) will take place during episodes 2 and 3, and then the rest of the season will be the battle for the throne.

I don't really like that as the WWs have been built up since the first episode, and they literally have the whole population of men, freaks and giants who were north of the wall in their set, and now they've got every northerner they've come across (except poor ned). they don't eat, sleep, rest and they have an undead dragon. No way they could be defeated in a couple episodes. The night king has been plotting his come back for generations.

I really hope that the writers are pulling an okey doke and some off the wall stuff like the night king attacking an unprepared kings landing happens instead. bran's vision of a dragon flying of KL might indicate this.

Jamie pushed a CHILD out of a tower so he could fukk his sister. which set off a chain of events that led to him losing his hand all three of his children.

Tywin was fukking Tyrion’s said whore. Which led to him getting an arrow in his chest.

Jon fell in love with a wilding woman. Which led to her putting three arrows in his back

Littlefinger fell in love with Catylin and got his wigged pushed back by damn near every male Stark, then he transferred that “love” to Sansa and ended up with his throat slit.

Sir Jorah fell in love with Dany and got greyscale trying to get back into her good graces, only to be cured and sent to the eternal friendzone

Rewatching the entire series and Tyrion never really seemed to be this great mind besides his role in the Battle of Blackwater Bay. Witty yes, but upon rewatch my opinion of him changed. Dude didn't really move all that smart at all, even in Kings Landing.

Everybody makes dumb moves sometimes on the show, but what cemented Tyrion as a great mind was outsmarting folks at the Eerie to keep from getting sent through the moon door

Plus when he figured out who Cersei's snitch was when he was hand of the King

I'd be shocked if the NK portion of the story was finished after episode 3.

Way more likely that it ends in some sort of draw and the squad has to forge a plan to defeat him in the second battle that's been rumored to take place this season. That'll probably play into Daenys house of the undying vision and LightBringer.
