Is Fire and Blood really good like that?

I almost started it then reread GOT instead
If you want a standard novel, then it won't do much for you. It's a history book from the perspective of a maester and his sources and it reads like one. But if you like political intrigue and succession battles then the book is brimming from end to end with shyt that will have you :mjlol: and :whoo: since its almost primarily concerned with the Iron Throne, who sits it, small council meetings, marriages, and troubled reigns. And there is plenty of narrative, character arcs, and edge of your seat battles, just told told in an academic way instead of with heavy prose.

To the original point, I'm iffy on a spinoff series about the Long Night being up to snuff, but I can really see some of the stories told in Fire and Blood being amazing TV.

It's not about characters surviving, it's about the situations they were presented in.

Having Jamie, Brienne and Sam on the absolute brink of death for 30 min is Walking Dead level bad. A cheap cliffhanger that subverts the standard the show initially built.

You wanna keep Sam alive? I don't fukkin care:mjlol: but you gotta do better than him holding his own against hordes of wights while still finding time to lay down and cry mid battle. It's silly

SAME with a one handed Jamie who the show has broken it's back to remind you ain't the fighter he once was but now you got him killing hordes:mjlol:. Nikka aint never looked that good with the sword work.:mjlol:It throws everything previously established in the trash

It ain't about deaths for the sake of it, it's about making sense in accordance with the rules of your story

There's foreshadowing and there's telegraphing and the show has been regressing into sloppy telegraphing since last season
Breh a untrained midget survived a seige.

But it's out the realm of possibility that a one handed man, a fatass, and freakishly large woman who were all trained how to fight could last out.:sas1:

I feel like some of you aren't actually listening to the criticism.

20:38-22:13 is the actual criticism. If you want to show them somehow surviving, don't show them surrounded by zombies and cut away from the action and then return to them magically being okay.

Sansa takes the throne. She's always wanted to be queen since the first ep.

Sansa wanted to be queen when she was a child, before she got to know politics. I think she'll fight to be the Queen in the North, but nothing more. IIRC, the queen of Westeros would have to live in King's Landing - the LAST place Sansa would ever want to be.

Yea through this week of discussing this ep nikkas ignoring every detailed criticism and circling back to "y'all want nikkas go die just because" "y'all think y'all better writers than the wtiters"

But this ain't the walking dead. A zombie bite isn't lethal on it's own. And they all are wearing plate armor.

So they got bit and stabbed a bit. It's a battle your gonna get wounded. As long as the wounds aren't fatal:yeshrug:

There weapons literally make the zombies useless upon contact. I'm not seeing the validity of the complaint.

The show does that to illustrate the hopelessness of the situation. But.

IF THE SHOW DOESNT PHYSICALLY SHOW YOU SOMEONE DYING. THEY DIDNT DIE.

I feel like Arya dies before the very end.

Sansa takes the throne. She's always wanted to be queen since the first ep. Tyrion becomes her hand. She marries Gendry.

Cersei, Varys, Jamie, Euron, Danni, the Mountain, all die. House Lannister and House Greyjoy get wiped out. Except Tyrion

Everyone else gets absorbed into Sansas new empire.

Baeworm and his girl and army leave and go back South.

The remaining Golden Company leaves and goes back home.

John doesn't want the throne after Danny dies. Goes back to run Winterfell with the one surviving Dragon.

Someone pushes Brans annoying azz off a cliff right before he wargs into some animal.
I have it ending pretty similarly except I think Sansa will be Queen of the North since she's been whining about the shyt for like 2 seasons now and they'll "subvert expectations" by having Gendry take the Iron throne since his lineage is basically his only plot significance and I can't think of any other logical reason for them to randomly decide to bring him back after completely ignoring his existence for 6 seasons.

It's been theorized before that Jamie will pay for his crimes by being sent to the wall to become the new lord commander. With the wall having been knocked down and the dead being gone, I doubt it'll happen in the show.

Jamie would make a dope ass new lord commander of the nights watch tho. Perfect way to pay for his sins and crimes and still be able to redeem himself.

Where, in any of the criticism in this thread did you deduce that anybody is upset with zombie contact? Why even bring that up?:mjlol:

Once again the criticism ain't about characters being alive, it's the sloppy and lazy execution. It's like y'all weren't paying attention to the earlier seasons and the standard they built and are cool with them coasting because you weren't that aware of the meta in the first place

For the 60th time, if you want to keep a char like Sam alive idc

But when you....

Forget it :mjlol:
