Could have been even better too.....episode 10 had the source material to make it the greatest tv episode ever but they kind of disappointed on every front.

Still was awesome, I went and watched Episode 9 & 10 back to back in the movie theater before season 5 and it was

They grounded Viserion without them night King would of took down all of winterfell from the air. They also took down thousands of wights.

Not their fault the game plan was trash

if no dragons existed the night king would never have viserion...would not be even able to breach the wall
having all 3 would make dany op, so the writers just gave 1 to the NK and they cancelled each other out in the battle, having no impact on the outcome

and killing thousands of wights does not matter when arya killed millions all by herself with one strike

there was no point of even having the battle, just evacuate the area, leave bran by himself, and when the night king comes to collect, arya stabs him out of nowhere

Why do people hate the Dorne shyt so much?

Because it's some of the dopest stuff in the books. There's a character named Arianne Martell that's in the books who's pretty awesome that never even made it in the show. Doran Martell wasn't as stupid as he was portrayed in the show either. The Sand Snakes are also 1,000x better.

There’ll be hype in ep 5 and 6, I imagine even BB had a turn down in hype after ozymandias. Hard to follow up your most hyped episode of the series. The piss poor reception probably doesn’t help either

They pretty much did everything wrong

--Littlefinger killing Lysa should have been in E10 and the cgi of the moon door fixed

--Tyrion and Jaime should have been about Tysha's rape and not just Jaime saving Tyrion because of family

--The Children of the Forest and Bloodraven scene was kind of ass and disappointing. They fixed the Children for S6 because they looked so ass here. Also, the skeleton fight was a rushed joke of CGI and acting. I think they fixed the scene later because it looked good in the theater, but the night it aired it looked bad

--Lady Stoneheart got cut

--STANNIS STANNIS STANNIS moment was rushed and felt weak

I know the reason why...

But the defense is seriously like the biggest wtf in the whole show. How could we think these characters are smart with this literal hulk smash shyt. Seriously makes you miss the tywin years of seeing the planning.

The idea that a fort surrounded by a forest couldnt put up a proper defense, literally chopping down some trees lining a floor of em soaked in oil Dragons Settint em on fire. Could have held back literally the entire army. Every battle move made asinine.

Instead they make it a wash and have the characters survive in near impossible fashions OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER and OVER.... the entire thing is ruined with this dumb ass plan and overuse of “oh this will look nice ON TV” over telling proper STORY. Coulda looked JUST as good too. Woulda made for a BETTER ending too seeing it reel back and forth correctly.

That’s a huge part they’ve sacrificed without the source material. The build up behind moves. I understand journeying between places had to go to wrap up the story, but the mind behind military moves has completely disappeared. That episode break down someone put in here a few pages back mentioned how useless their plan seemed in episode 2, and how it didn’t improve when it came time to execute. Like why have any posted up outside of the castle? Why post soldiers in FRONT of the moat? Why not put the moat out further ahead? Why use the one-use catapults when you can actually see the enemy?

Granted the early season generals weren’t on their Genghis Khan or nothing crazy, but at least u couldn’t critique their methods. When you think about it, all the individuals who would have war experience, on the good side, are dead and gone now. Other than Tyrion, but he wasn’t allowed a real voice

Edit: and Jaime plus Jorah but they’re already scared to speak in the presence of Daenerys
