I'm kinda miffed at yet another geriatric appointment.

Presidency, senate leadership, house leadership, and cabinet is coming out around 90% folk 65-85 (and the large majority white). That's a really stupid fukking long-term strategy in a party that is going to be dominated by millennial and non-white voters by 2028. The fact that the fukking Republicans are doing better at nominating young leadership when 2/3 of young people don't fukk with them is a real problem.
The one thing Republicans are right about is term limits on the chairs and committees. Republicans have people in their 40s and 50s on committees and cycle them out.

Democrats believe in seniority and let old people stay on forever. Its stupid.

the ether
trumps cabinet were all really old too and im not sure how much age of cabinet members influences millennial voters

its more a problem at the congressional level
Trump's own cabinet picks were irrelevant cause they were primarily passed-over losers who hadn't abandoned the sinking ship. But the GOP has been pushing their younger reps into clear positions of prestige and leadership roles.

Biden's cabinet picks matter because A. these could be springboards to elected office later and B. We need people who sympathize with the positions of young folk and non-White folk. And what do we get? Merrick fukking Garland as the Attorney General. He's a wealthy old white Jewish guy who has lived in privilege all his 68 years and sides with authority more often than not.
Garland is considered a judicial moderate and a centrist.[45] Garland has been described by Nina Totenberg and Carrie Johnson of NPR as "a moderate liberal, with a definite pro-prosecution bent in criminal cases".[5] Tom Goldstein, the publisher of SCOTUSblog, wrote in 2010 that "Judge Garland's record demonstrates that he is essentially the model, neutral judge. He is acknowledged by all to be brilliant. His opinions avoid unnecessary, sweeping pronouncements."
While on the bench, Garland has shown a tendency to be deferential to the government in criminal cases, siding with prosecutors in ten of the fourteen criminal cases in which he disagreed with a colleague.[51] For example, in United States v. Watson (1999), Garland dissented when the court concluded a prosecutor's closing argument was unduly prejudicial, objecting that a conviction should be reversed for only "the most egregious of these kind of errors."[51]
During Garland's tenure, the D.C. Circuit reviewed cases arising from the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. In al Odah v. United States (2003), a panel that included Garland unanimously held that federal courts could not hear challenges from Guantanamo detainees.[22] In July 2011, Garland wrote for the unanimous panel when it rejected Guantanamo detainee Moath Hamza Ahmed al Alawi's petition for habeas corpus.[56][57]

TYRONE GA!
Moscow Mitch with the double cross. :dead:
They never liked Trump. He and his minions were just a means to keep their seats and push their agendas. Nothing more, nothing less. Don't forget those 2016 primaries and debates.
