Why don't they just improve the apps they have. Barely convinced some of my peeps to hop on hangouts now we suppose to switch again. Sticking with Textra.

Hangouts - SMS, MMS, cross platform web chat, video conferencing
Messenger - SMS, MMS
Allo - mobile only web chat
Duo - mobile only peer to peer video conferencing

There is room for all of them given Androids reach and differentiation.
Hangouts not going anywhere as you still want to be able to have cross platform and cross device communication

If I get Allo and duo there really is no reason for me to use Hangouts right? From my understanding you can use them on apple devices also.

From my understanding, allo and duo dont support group chat. Im actually surprised hangouts is getting the black sheep treatment.

I guess you don't get the end to end encryption in hangouts.

I still don't understand why they could incorporate all of this in hangouts.
