I listened to Kendrick Lamar TPAB and to me Drake's IYRTITL was a better album. Kendrick tried to be too deep to me.

What does this have to do with the comment you quoted? And what is trying to be deep? Kendrick had a message and said it, if having a message in your music is problematic, then yea, stick with drake and friends' collaborations.

I figured as such but again, like, what is their thought process in voting for something like album of the year? I can't believe it's something as simple as, eh, Taylor Swift is popular so we'll vote for her. I'm not saying that it's some super complicated procedure but I want to believe there is an actual discussion on what constitutes an album of the year.
