I remember when Rsonist from the Heatmakerz made that classic beat on the Smack DVD, weird thing is I don't think any rapper ever used to this day.

Ain't ASAP Rocky, Nicki Minaj, French Montana and Fetty Wap among the top rappers in the game right now?

I don't mean rappers from NYC, I mean that NYC sound. All those artists you named either sound southern, or straight pop. I still like them, but besides some stuff from Asap, I don't get the NYC rap feeling from any of them. It's not like they have to do the old style, just something that still gives me that feeling of NYC.

French definitely pioneered that Southern sound that latter NY/Tri-State artists hopped on tbh. He was doing that shyt early.

But i wouldn't say he's completely Trap tho. He's got plenty of NY type shyt.

No disrespect to french, but those songs still didn't give that feeling. I wish I knew the right word to explain myself, but its a feeling the rapper, and the beat together, gives. I did forget about fabolos, though. He still gives that NYC vibe, especially lately.
