How is that weak?

You have the Wu for their 20th year anniversary and then Kendrick and Miguel, the future of hip hop and RnB.

What's the point in getting Jay-Z or Nas every year? It's been done.

They dont  but it would be dope if they could

but I agree with your main point

:ehh: Lineup is actually solid all things considered. Big artists sorta pick and chose festivals and summerjams now and in the case of Jay-Z and Nas have their own festivals (Made in America/Rock the Bells) on top of that.

I think its kinda fitting Wu is coming back to the show, considering some say that them dissing Summerjam back in like 97 or so was the reason they started playing less of them on the radio. Kinda like Nas last year.

Kendrick, 2 Chainz, ASAP is standard so Im not mad at that either. And the Festival stage looks dope with Joey and Bronson

Its gotten better the last couple of years (Last year in part cause of Nas and MOP's surprise apperance and even people like Mase, MMG showing up)

I just hope the crowd dont act bougie like they do normally. One thing about the WU is they will make you love their live shows, especially Meth. Dont care how washed up you think he is, he still puts an amazing live effort. Be dope if they do a set like the Coachella one

Our UK festival which is all over the place has sorta become the unoffical summer jam but its a mix of R&B, Hip Hop EDM etc. Look at the randomness of this lineup :mindblown:

Still going to see Tribe, Hov, Nas, Wacka, Kendrick, Snoop over 3 days though :myman:

nikkas got love for Future out here. Dont get it twisted. Avg NY nikka is a fan of everything popular around the country, not everyone here is me or @Big Mel. We have nothing. I cant think of anyone who is really "industry popping" thats fully repping NY. Jay dont represent Marcy no mo, Jay's new hood is Monaco :aicmon:

:what:

If you want Summer Jam to be a Jay-Z concert, just go see a Jay-Z concert. It's not like he doesn't tour. He did a week full of shows at Barclays this past fall yet y'all want every summer to be a Can't Knock The Hustle sing-along.

This is why NY rap will ultimately never get back to what it was. Even if we had a rapper that could push us forward and progress, we wouldn't wanna see him because we're too attached to Hov and Nas. It's like wrestling and it's inability to ever wanna let the Rock, Austin, HBK, Taker, etc. go.

and nobody wants to see a Firm reunion. Nobody.

I think we gotta take into account that for the last 6 years or so, the special guests have been the real bread and butter as oppose to the scheduled artists. Its more so now who are the artists going to bring out to surprise the audience. A few years ago, Jeezy brought out Jay to perform DOA for the first time or last year Nas and Lauren being special guests. Basically, the artists you currently see on the Summer Jam line up are not the only performances that you'll see on stage.
