that's a NEW YORK CITY lineup.. these nikkas got a chitlin circuit lineup this year, ha, a lot of those nikkas performing on the big stage belong on the small stage

Im a NY nikka but Im also a realist... and its safe to say the NYC rap scene is pretty fukkin dead. I will go even further and say Summer Jam isn't really that hot or prestigious of a show anymore. From what I remember they cant fill an arena for it. They have to give tickets away all day. You look at Wu Tang, they are still respected by old heads, but they are to the young people that tend to go to Summer Jam. "Have they done anything with Young Money? Where is there Instagram page?" These nikkas might as well be Earth Wind And Fire to these young kids.

Truthfully if I was an artist today I would prob rather be doing shows down in ATL... thats the epicenter of mainstream rap in 2013. NYC is on some perpetual "rememba back in the days " shyt, or some fake ATL nikka shyt

They should of got Kanye West to headline. It would of been a MAJOR move.

Yeazle's too much of a damn diva dude. Hot 97 doesnt have that kind of money. Hot 97 couldnt get the 56 ostriches he would want for his dressing room. Plus if he didnt get shyt to be 100% how he wanted it he would flip. U dont even see him w/G.O.O.D. music anymore.

Clear stars/headliners, strong R&B presence, diversity. The line up is weak today because the game is weak, there isn't the pool of talent/diversity to draw on for a show worthy of the Summer Jam legacy.

If you want Summer Jam to be a Jay-Z concert, just go see a Jay-Z concert. It's not like he doesn't tour. He did a week full of shows at Barclays this past fall yet y'all want every summer to be a Can't Knock The Hustle sing-along.

This is why NY rap will ultimately never get back to what it was. Even if we had a rapper that could push us forward and progress, we wouldn't wanna see him because we're too attached to Hov and Nas. It's like wrestling and it's inability to ever wanna let the Rock, Austin, HBK, Taker, etc. go.

and nobody wants to see a Firm reunion. Nobody.
