Trump says 2-week timeframe is the "maximum" to decide on US involvement in Iran

From CNN's Betsy Klein
President Donald Trump indicated that his two-week timeline for a decision on US military involvement in Iran is the “maximum” amount of time — and that he could make up his mind sooner.

“I’m giving them a period of time. We’re going to see what that period of time is. But I’m giving them a period of time, and I would say two weeks would be the maximum,” Trump told reporters in New Jersey.

It’s the president’s first comments on the self-imposed deadline since his press secretary yesterday read aloud his statement setting that time frame for a diplomatic solution. Trump suggested, however, that he is not considering the possibility of US ground troops as he weighs an attack on Iran’s nuclear sites.

“I’m not going to talk about ground forces. The last thing you want to do is ground forces,” he said when asked if that was on the table.

He also appeared to suggest he does not believe Israel has the capacity to take out all of Iran’s nuclear facilities alone:

“They really have a very limited capacity. They could break through a little section, but they can’t go down very deep. They don’t have that capacity. And we’ll have to see what happens. Maybe it won’t be necessary.”

Officials and experts have suggested using the US’ unique bunker-busting capabilities toward those ends.

Trump also said he will “always a peacemaker,” but “sometimes, you need some toughness to make peace.”

Iran expressed concerns about "inaction" of E3 in condemning Israel at Geneva meeting

From CNN’s Hira Humayun
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed “concerns” about the UK, France and Germany’s “inaction” in condemning Israel’s attacks when he met with their foreign ministers in Geneva on Friday, according to Iranian state-affiliated media.

Iran’s ISNA news agency quoted Araghchi as saying he also stressed to the ministers that Iran would continue to “exercise its legitimate right of self defense against the Zionist regime, with the objective of stopping the aggression and preventing future recurrences.”

The minister said he told his counterparts Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful and remains under the supervision of the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog.

“If the attacks are ceased and the aggressor is held accountable for its blatant crimes, Iran will be ready to consider diplomacy,” Araghchi said, according to ISNA.

What y'all think is going on

Iran has some of the most earthquakes on earth every year breh. Just a regular occurrence there
Netanyahu’s actions and this country’s response legit been generating political confusion in the U.S’s political spectrum the last two years.

That dude has been doing a number to Democrats and the party’s support since 2023.

#Bothsider nation and non-voters definitely been growing because of Netanyahu. No one wants to see it.

I’m sure we’ve all seen republicans denounce the war too, but they didn’t leave the party or stay home on Election Day.

Why can’t some democrats do that? Why let 1 issue keep you from voting, and that in turns creates a multitude of issues we now have to deal with?

If you don’t agree with the war cool..complain to your politicians, but still fukkin vote to keep this insane motherfukker out the office. I wasn’t happy with how Biden and Harris were handing Israel, but at the end of the day their policies would have benefited me the most instead of Trumps.

Israeli army says it completed wave of attacks on western Iran

The military says 15 fighter jets and more than 30 weapons were used in the wave of strikes.
It said the attacks targeted “missile launch sites”, without providing additional details.
As we’ve been reporting, Israel’s attacks on Iran have killed hundreds of civilians over the past week across the country.

US intelligence assessment on Iran nuclear programme ‘sound’

As we’ve just reported, Trump has dismissed the conclusion of his own national intelligence chief, who said in April that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon.
Marwan Bishara, Al Jazeera’s senior political analyst, explained that Tulsi Gabbard – the US director of national intelligence, who issued the determination on Iran – “does not speak for herself” or her team alone.
“She speaks for all the intelligence agencies combined,” Bishara stressed.
“This intelligence is supposed to be sound. This is not just one person or one team saying something. It’s the entire intelligence community in the United States. He [Trump] would dismiss them? For what?
“For a lie by a rogue element called Benjamin Netanyahu, who has lied all his life, a con artist who is indicted for his crimes in Gaza? It’s just astounding.”

Attempting to fight wars on three different fronts is not wise for the strongest militaries, let alone one that’s reliant on other countries.

The cries (also known as demands) for US to enter the conflict will become screams in another week or two, so expect AIPAC bought politicians on both sides to start calling for US intervention. Jeffries already did a soft rollout of the language they plan on using when they ask for boots on the ground.
Dems siding with Trump will be yet another hit to their election hopes

I get all the money that’s poured in politicians on both sides are compromised. With a big portion of Americans against any war it’s a huge chance to let Trump drown not throw the life jacket.
