President Donald Trump will decide whether to launch a US strike on Iran within the next two weeks, he said in a statement delivered by his press secretary during a briefing Thursday.

Trump said he wanted to allow diplomatic efforts to proceed before making a final decision on US military action.

“Based on the fact that there’s a substantial chance of negotiations that may or may not take place with Iran in the near future, I will make my decision whether or not to go within the next two weeks,” said the president in his statement, which was read aloud by press secretary Karoline Leavitt from the White House briefing room.

The White House spokesperson says the United States government maintains that it is a “fact that Iran has never been closer to obtaining a nuclear weapon”.
She says that the US are “monitoring and watching” the developments in the Israel-Iran conflict, and the US president was just in an intelligence briefing, and he continues to be briefed by his National Security Council.
He also remains in “constant communication with our Israeli counterparts, most notably, [Israeli PM] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu”.
She also said that Trump has made it clear he always wants to “pursue diplomacy, but… the president is unafraid to use strength if necessary”.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said today that a deal with Iran must include “no enrichment of a uranium.”

She reiterated President Donald Trump’s stance that Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.

Leavitt’s comments about a deal came after she announced in the White House briefing room that Trump would decide whether to launch a strike on Iran within the next two weeks, because he felt there was a “substantial chance of negotiations.”

Coincidentally, Israel has about 12 days left on the Arrow and Iron Dome stockpile

And if we believe the Israelis about Iran having a bomb. They could have the fisile within a month.

Either way, this seems like him giving both Iran and Israel 2 weeks to settle it.

Problem is, we will pay for Israel to reup its weapons....in billions of dollars...that we could have used here.
