Other countries can get it if they have the resources, Russia will lead Africa nuclear energy with Burkina etc.. Isis Ra don't want Iran to have it because they are a threat to their Super Isis Ra plan.
It's also worth noting that within black Africa, the countries with The industrial and academic capacity to build one don't have any actual enemies. (Sa, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, TZ, etc)I definitely think African nations will have to ping help from Russia to provide cover for it.
I think the biggest adversary to it would be the U.S and the sneaky movements this country is known for so they’ll need another Super Power to cover at least so they don’t get intimidated physically.
They’ll most likely have to deal with a lot of the clever sabotage like how Iran got hit with the Stuxnet worm. Those’ll be the biggest barriers and something Iran has to figure out how to deal with over time.
It's extremely rare to see cross country fighting, when most African fighting is internal , which eliminates the paki/India/iran incentive to go nuclear . Additionally, no great power has any incentive to actually attack them which eliminates the North Korea incentive to develop nukes.
At this point the only motivation may be national prestige. But The economic consequences of pursuing a nuclear program would make this reason foolish.
Whilel I like the idea of Burkina Faso being able to pull it off, let's not kid ourselves here about their lack of industrial capacity, academic capacity, and supply chains. Maybe 40 or 50 years from now, but I highly doubt any of this sahel alliance countries could pull it off in our lifetimes, even with Russian assistance.
Other than them, the only nation with regional beef may be Ethiopia. But they far outclass all of their nonkenyan neighbors in conventional arms giving them no incentive to pursue nuclear armament.
