Iran: Israel enjoys impunity despite committing grave rights abuses

Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei says no country has violated international human rights more than the Israelis.
“The main reason for this is that Israel has always felt complete immunity from punishment for its crimes,” IRNA news agency quoted Baghaei as saying.
“The entire international community, each of the member states of the United Nations, has a clear responsibility to stand against this injustice, because the prohibition of the use of force is a fundamental principle of the United Nations Charter, which is clearly stated in Article 24.”

Iran authorities preparing for nuclear leaks from Israeli strikes

Iran’s Deputy Health Minister Ali Jafarian says the department is preparing to treat any victims suffering from the effects of Israel’s continuing attacks on nuclear facilities.
“We have not yet received reports of Israel using unconventional weapons. We are prepared to deal with any nuclear leak in the event that nuclear reactors are targeted, and we hope we do not reach that stage,” said Jafarian.
He added three hospitals have been attacked so far, with Kermanshah Hospital being completely evacuated.
“All of these are civilian targets. International organisations, especially the World Health Organization and the International Red Cross, must pressure Israel to stop targeting civilians. However, we do not expect much from them as we have witnessed their inability to do anything in Gaza for a year and a half.”
Jafarian confirmed “430 civilians” have so far been killed and more than 3,500 wounded after eight days of “Israeli aggression”.

Israel’s ‘expansionist policies’ require regional intervention: Turkiye

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has praised Qatar and Egypt for their ongoing efforts to get a ceasefire for Gaza while denouncing Israel for its continued attacks on Palestine.
“Israel seeks to expel Palestinians from their lands, has turned the West Bank into a warzone, and seeks to undermine the two-state solution,” Fidan told foreign ministers gathered in Istanbul at the summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation.
“Israeli attacks and its expansionist policies require us to deal with them. These are not the problems of individual countries alone – they are Israel’s problem alone. We condemn Israeli attacks and they must be stopped immediately. The international community must immediately halt these policies that threaten global stability,” he added.

I wish posters would just post news from Twitter accounts that at least have one source, and not just rumours.

Also chill in the conspiracy posts smh. @Afro is actually doing a good job of keeping the thread full of news not just skizo conspiracy theories or Nazi themed posts.

This weird, almost pro-Nazi, stuff aimed at the Jews is just odd. OK you don’t like them, but no need to be seeing Hitler in the thread.
For real. Keep the 4klan shyt to yourself

New York Times: Iran's supreme leader names potential successors in case he is killed

From CNN’s Abbas Al Lawati
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has named three senior clerics as candidates to succeed him should he be killed, The New York Times reports, citing three Iranian officials familiar with the matter.

In the event a supreme leader dies, Iran’s constitution requires the Assembly of Experts, an 88-member clerical body, to pick a successor. The process has only been used once since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, when Khamenei himself was elected in 1989.

Khamenei wants to ensure a quick, orderly transition in the event of his death, the Times reported, citing the officials.

After reportedly rejecting an Israeli plan to kill Khamenei, US President Donald Trump stated this week that Iran’s supreme leader is an “easy target.”

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Tuesday. “He is an easy target but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not ruled out targeting Khamenei either, saying the death of the supreme leader would not “escalate the conflict, it’s going to end the conflict.”

On Thursday, Defense Minister Israel Katz went further, declaring that Khamenei cannot be allowed to “continue to exist” after an Iranian missile struck a hospital in Israel.

Citing the officials, the Times reported that top officials in Iran are making preparations for a wide range of outcomes if the war intensifies while Trump considers whether to intervene, adding that the regime’s chain of command has been hit hard in Israeli strikes but appears to be functioning.

Over 400 people killed and thousands injured in Iran since beginning of conflict, health ministry says

From CNN’s Eyad Kourdi and Eve Brennan
Over 400 people have been killed in Iran since the beginning of the Israeli-Iranian conflict last Friday, Iran state broadcaster IRIB reported today, citing Iran’s health ministry. Thousands of people have been injured, it added.

“As of this morning, the Israeli regime’s hands are stained with the blood of 400 defenseless Iranians, and it has injured 3,056 people with its missiles and drones,” the health ministry said, according to IRIB.

“Most of the casualties and fatalities were civilians,” it said.

State-linked Tasnim news agency reported earlier today that Israeli strikes in Iran have killed 54 women and children since June 13, citing government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani.
