I wish posters would just post news from Twitter accounts that at least have one source, and not just rumours.

Also chill in the conspiracy posts smh. @Afro is actually doing a good job of keeping the thread full of news not just skizo conspiracy theories or Nazi themed posts.

This weird, almost pro-Nazi, stuff aimed at the Jews is just odd. OK you don’t like them, but no need to be seeing Hitler in the thread.

Yea, people need to stick to strictly talking about the Israel vs Iran from verified sources. Take your anti-Jewish conspiracies or anti-Iranian takes somewhere else

Does america and israel thinking go to war with iran would be a walk in the park when you literally have other countries saying they WILL jump in escalating the situation???!:what: how about telling israel to kick rocks and stand the fukk down... they are the problem in this situation. it's wild...the media and govt sources being folded to be on israel's side since this been happening is sick. truth is the first casualty of war.

WATCH: Iran seems to ‘lack confidence’ in its ability to hit significant Israeli military sites

Former Pentagon official David Des Roches told Al Jazeera that Iran’s missiles seem to be mostly aimed at relatively poorly defended or undefended Israeli assets, rather than key military facilities.
“The targets are different from things like command and control headquarters or airbases, which are defended by key point defence systems,” he said.

US intelligence chief Tulsi Gabbard comments after scolding by Trump

Reporting from Washington, DC, United States
She just released a statement on X saying that it is the media that is quoting her out of context when, indeed, she did say specifically that Iran is not building a nuclear weapon – back in March.
But she said the difference is that Iran can produce one within weeks, if it so chooses, and she said that she and the president are in agreement that Iran cannot produce a nuclear weapon.
Certainly, Gabbard is representative of that isolationist wing of Trump’s MAGA supporters, and she has been really sidelined out of this conversation as he’s trying to decide whether or not the US should join Israel in directly attacking Iran.

It's been a full week since this shyt started, and this is looking like Russia-Ukraine, but in a different light.

Funny enough if Biden was still in office, Israel would be getting weapons and intel because Biden would appease Israel. Bibi miscalculate on Trump being his friend, which is really fukking weird because Israel has the MOSSAD. Trump doesn't want to make his friend Putin mad or have MAGA shyt their depends over starting a war.

I think Trump is too coward to do anything except provide intel.

Bibi won't stop these attacks because if he does, he goes to jail... but Iran is not backing down.

He legit might cause Israel to lose territory because it seems no one is trying to stop him after kicking a hornet's nest.

Indian Ocean slave trade

The Indian Ocean slave trade, sometimes known as the East African slave trade, involved the capture and transportation of predominately sub-Saharan African slaves along the coasts, such as the Swahili Coast and the Horn of Africa, and through the Indian Ocean. Affected areas included East Africa, Southern Arabia, the west coast of India, Indian ocean islands (including Madagascar) and southeast Asia including Java.

The source of slaves was primarily in sub-Saharan Africa, but also included North Africa and the Middle East, Indian Ocean islands, as well as South Asia. While the slave trade in the Indian Ocean started 4,000 years ago, it expanded significantly in late antiquity (1st century CE) with the rise of Byzantine and Sassanid trading enterprises. Muslim slave trading started in the 7th century, with the volume of trade fluctuating with the rise and fall of local powers. Beginning in the 16th century, slaves were traded to the Americas, including Caribbean colonies, as Northern, Western, and Southern European powers became involved in the slave trade. Trade declined with the abolition of slavery in the 19th century.

The East African slave trade flourished greatly from the second half of the nineteenth century, when Said bin Sultan, an Oman Sultan, made Zanzibar his capital and expanded international commercial activities and plantation economy in cloves and coconuts. During this period demands for slaves grew drastically. The slaves were needed for local use mainly to work in plantations in Zanzibar and for export. Sultan Seyyid (seyyid is an Arabic title for Lord) Said made deliberate efforts to "revive old Arab-caravan trade" with mainland Africa, which became the major source of slaves.[75]

Said bin Sultan took six major initiatives which facilitated growth and expansion of his commercial empire. He firstly introduced a new currency "Maria Theresa Dollar" to supplement the existing "Spanish Crown", which simplified commercial activities. Secondly, he introduced a harmonized 5% import duty for any merchandise entering into his empire. He abolished export duties. Thirdly, he took advantage of Zanzibar's and Pemba's fertile soil to establish plantations of coconut and cloves. Fourthly, he revitalised and extended the "old Arab-caravan trade" with mainland East Africa to acquire slaves and ivory. He signed commercial treaties with western capitalist countries, such as the United States of America in 1833, with Great Britain in 1839, and France in 1844. Finally, he invited Asian merchants and experts who dealt with financial matters.[76][77]

It was not until 1873 that Sultan Seyyid Barghash of Zanzibar, under pressure from Great Britain, signed a treaty that made the slave trade in his territories illegal.

Fears rising over economic impact of conflict: Analyst

Nader Habibi, an economics professor at Brandeis University in the US state of Massachusetts, said the escalation between Iran and Israel has not yet had a serious impact on the global economy, as evidenced by the reaction of the global oil market and the financial capital markets, but that could change.
“In the past seven, eight days, there is fear that if the conflict is spread to the Persian Gulf, to the Strait of Hormuz, it might have a more severe impact on the oil market by disrupting the supplier,” he said.
About 20 percent of the global oil supply travels through the Strait of Hormuz, which connects the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf.
“Iran has not moved in the direction of focusing on the region in terms of targeting any sites or economic assets in the region, and it appears Israel is also reluctant to attack Iran’s export capacity for crude oil,” Habibi said.

Israeli minister claims attacks set back Iran’s nuclear weapon by two years

The statements from Foreign Minister Gideon Saar have been reported by the German newspaper Bild.
“According to the assessment we hear, we already delayed for at least two or three years the possibility for them to have a nuclear bomb,” Saar said.
He further indicated Israel had no intention of ceasing its operation.
“We will do everything that we can do there in order to remove this threat,” he said.
Iran has repeatedly denied it is seeking to build a nuclear bomb, long maintaining its nuclear programme is meant only for civilian use.

Iranian officials say 22 arrested for alleged connections to Israel

The head of Qom province’s intelligence police has said the force has arrested 22 people “on charges of being connected to the Zionist regime’s spy services” since Israel’s assault on the country began on June 12, the Fars news agency reports.
The news agency, run by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said the charges also include “disturbing public opinion and supporting the criminal regime [Israel]”.
It did not provide details of the alleged offences or the accused individuals.

US joining Israeli strikes would cause hell, Iranian minister tells BBC

Lyse Doucet
Chief international correspondent
Lucy Clarke-Billings
BBC News

The US joining Israeli strikes would cause "hell for the whole region", Iran's deputy foreign minister has told the BBC.

Saeed Khatibzadeh said this is "not America's war" and if US President Donald Trump does get involved, he will always be remembered as "a president who entered a war he doesn't belong in".

He said US involvement would turn the conflict into a "quagmire", continue aggression and delay an end to the "brutal atrocities".

His comments came after the Soroka hospital in southern Israel was hit during an Iranian missile attack. Iranian state media reported that the strike targeted a military site next to the hospital, and not the facility itself.

Israel's Ministry of Health said 71 people were injured during the attack on the Soroka Medical Centre.

Meanwhile, Israel's military said it had targeted Iran's nuclear sites including the "inactive" Arak heavy water reactor and Natanz facility.

Tehran has not given an update on casualties in Iran from Israeli strikes.

The latest attacks come at a critical time. On Thursday, the White House said Trump would decide whether or not the US gets directly involved in the conflict within the next two weeks.

Speaking to the BBC, Khatibzadeh insisted that "of course, diplomacy is the first option", but said but while bombardment continues "we cannot start any negotiation".
He repeatedly called Iran's attacks on Israel "self defence under Article 51 of the UN Charter" and said "we were in the middle of diplomacy" when in a major escalation of the conflict on 13 June, Israel launched attacks on Iranian nuclear sites, killing several top generals and nuclear scientists.

Iranian military official says nuclear material moved to prevent its destruction: Monitors

Iran is presenting the spectre of a “long and challenging hunt for hidden Iranian nuclear material” as part of its approach to negotiations to end Israel’s attacks and get back to diplomacy, monitors say.
US-based defence think tanks, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) and the Critical Threats Project (CTP), said in their latest joint assessment of the conflict that a senior IRGC commander has stated that nuclear material was relocated to secure locations to prevent its destruction.
“Protecting Iranian nuclear material by hiding the material” would make “a US or Israeli effort to destroy the material more difficult,” the ISW/CTP said.
“This statement is presumably intended to suggest to a Western audience that destroying all of Iran’s nuclear material would require a long, challenging, and possibly futile hunt for hidden material and that therefore the West should negotiate with Iran,” it said.
