Al Jazeera:
- Trump says the US has “obliterated” three nuclear sites in Iran to eliminate the country’s nuclear enrichment capacity, and threatens more strikes if Tehran does not make peace.
- Netanyahu hails Trump’s “bold decision” and says the US attacks happened “in full coordination” between the two leaders and between their militaries.
- An Iranian legislator who represents Qom, where the Fordow facility is located, says the site “has not been seriously damaged”, while another provincial official says there is no danger to residents of the area.
- UN chief Antonio Guterres says US attacks on Iran mark a “dangerous escalation” that could spiral out iff control, “with catastrophic consequences for civilians, the region, and the world”.
- Yemen’s Houthi rebels say the US “must bear consequences” of the strikes on Iran and that the attacks are not the end of the war, but the beginning.
US strikes Iran: The US struck several key Iranian nuclear facilities early Sunday, including Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. President Donald Trump claimed the sites were “totally obliterated,” during an address at the White House, and warned the US could go after additional targets if Iran does not make peace.
• Iran’s response: Iran’s atomic agency condemned the US strikes as a violation of international law and vowed “never” to stop its nuclear program, according to Iranian media. There has not yet been an official response from Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
• Hostilities escalate: The Israel-Iran conflict has entered its second week. Earlier on Saturday, Israel claimed the killing of two commanders in Iran’s elite Quds Force and said it struck a range of Iranian military targets. In Israel, two Iranian drones made a rare breach of the country’s air defenses
BBC:
- US Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth says the US "devastated the Iranian nuclear programme" with its overnight strikes on three sites
- Hegseth says the strikes were not about regime change - but "President Trump has consistently stated" that Iran "must not get a nuclear weapon"
- In the same Pentagon update, General Dan Caine says the US dropped 14 "Massive Ordnance Penetrators" - also known as "bunker busters"
- BBC Verify has looked at new satellite pictures of the Fordo nuclear site, showing six fresh craters
- Meanwhile, Iran and and Israel continue to fire at each other - with Israel saying it hit dozens of military targets
- Earlier, President Trump told Iran to "make peace" or face "far greater" attacks in future
- In response to the attacks, Iran warned of "everlasting consequences" and accused Trump of "betrayal"
Reminder that we are here because of Trump and Netanyahu

AP FACT CHECK: Trump vs. truth on the Iran nuclear deal
