Israel has destroyed half of Iran’s missile launchers, according to the Israeli military’s chief of staff, who warned his country must be prepared for prolonged military action.
In comments made in a news briefing today, Eyal Zamir lauded the Israel Defense Forces’ recent strikes on Iran. “Thanks to a powerful and surprising opening strike, we achieved extraordinary results,” he said.
As well as eliminating Iran’s senior military command and dealing significant blows to its nuclear program, Israel had destroyed surface-to-air missile batteries and around half of its missile launchers, some just “minutes” before launch, Zamir said.
But he warned Israel “must be ready for a prolonged campaign” to “remove a threat of such magnitude, against such an enemy.”
He continued that pilots from Israel’s air force are “operating at the greatest range and intensity in the forces’ history” to strike Iran in “powerful” waves of attacks.
Zamir also tied Israel’s operations in Iran to the 53 remaining hostages who were taken by Hamas on October 7, 2023.
“Bringing them home is a moral and national imperative, and the IDF is working tirelessly to achieve it. The operations we are conducting in Iran these days are also contributing to that goal,” he said.
He added that Israel is preparing for a wide range of possible developments.
“The campaign is not over. Although we have made significant achievements, difficult days still lie ahead,” he added.

We're hearing now from the Israeli Defense Force's (IDF's) Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, who says the Israeli military "does not stand idly by in the face of developing threats".
Zamir says Israel are "in the midst of a multi-front war", citing a visit to the Gaza Strip, as well as to see sites in Israel hit by Iranian strikes.
He adds: "The IDF is prepared. Day by day, our freedom to operate is expanding, and the enemy's is narrowing."
"We have embarked on the most complex campaign in our history to remove a threat of such magnitude, against such an enemy, we must be ready for a prolonged campaign."
Like them carrying out 60 fighter jet bombings over a single night is hilarious.
Think about the fact that the F-15 and F-35 don’t have enough fuel to make the round trip. Their range is 2000km max, straight line, no combat or deviation. The western tip of Iran is 1500 miles/2000 km one way by itself from the east most point of Israel. Iran and Israel aren’t next door like Ukraine and Russia are.
So that means there’d be a shytload of fueling planes in the air operating at once and would have to provide for every single jet to make the trip. Every single one would have to get a full tank of fuel to make it back. Those fuel planes would have to make multiple trips to restock on fuel and those don’t fill up instantaneously.
That’s way too unrealistic. Those fuel planes and 4th gen planes (non F-35’s) additionally have a big ass radar signature.
Not to mention the maintenance once they land back in base, about 140+ hours (1 week) per jet for each crew to make each F-35 effective. This ain’t a video game: wear and tear along with handling logistics are a thing.
Additionally, it was confirmed Iran’s successful wave of attacks on runways, airbases, etc. so how is any plane, not an F-35, taking off so seamlessly?
If we hear about another wave of F-35’s carrying out missions the next day or two, that’s outright bullshyt after an “operation” like that. Not to mention these planes are also chasing missiles and shooting them down then having enough fuel to make a bombing run? Come on man. People playing way too many First Person Shooters.

French foreign minister says Iran open to negotiating solution
Jean-Noel Barrot has told reporters after talks in Geneva that his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi has signalled “his willingness to continue these discussions on the nuclear programme and, more broadly, on all issues”.
“We expect Iran to be open to discussions, including with the United States, to reach a negotiated settlement through dialogue to this crisis situation, which poses considerable risks for the Middle East region as well as Europe,” the French foreign minister said.

Iran ready for diplomacy ‘once aggression is stopped’: Araghchi
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has been speaking to reporters in Geneva. Here’s what he had to say:
“Iran’s nuclear programme is peaceful and has always been under the IAEA safeguards and monitoring. Hence, armed attacks against safeguarded nuclear facilities by a regime which is not a party to any WMD treaties is a serious crime and violation of international law.”
He said he expressed “grave concern” of the failure of the E3 countries – Germany, UK and France – and the European Union to condemn those attacks.
“Iran is ready to consider diplomacy once again – once the aggression is stopped and the aggressor is held accountable for the crimes committed,” Araghchi said.
“In this regard, I made it crystal clear that Iran’s defence capabilities are not negotiable.”
He added: “We support the continuation of discussion with the E3 and EU, and expressed our readiness to meet again in the near future.”
