Had nothing to do with the quality though. I started watching it after sex and a home cooked lunch of shrimp pasta on a Saturday afternoon while it was raining and I just dozed off on the sofa shortly after the dog died. I'll watch it again before I go see this one.

I literally felt the same way, felt maybe i was crazy cuz everyone loved it. it was an ok movie but nothing that blew my mind. Maybe we prefer things like good writing and a coherent plot.

All movies these days that are even close to decent get the over hype and sequel treatment. It's ridiculous. If this was back in the day, we would have gotten a sequel to The Rock, Con Air, Face Off, True Lies, Air Force One etc. etc. Nothing about these new movies are original or worth making sequels to. Just a quick cash grab. John Wick, Jack Reacher. FOH with these unoriginal cliche action movies.
