I think the pilot and the Tulsa eps were great but the rest of the show had no cohesion. However, online blerds and blerd adjacents would tell us we missing the symbolisms and the complex depth.

It’s was complex and there was a lot of symbolism. None of that added to it being a good story.
It wasn't complex though...and most of the symbolism was counterintuitive.

Lot of younger writers have interesting ideas but struggle mightily to properly bring them altogether in a succinct plot with a solid conclusion. I've noted that I felt a lot of them aren't reading the classic literary work to get an idea of how to properly write a story.
