Ayton is averaging 18-10-4 on 70% shooting from the field and hes taking mid range jumpers and making high level post moves. I know this thread is about Luka and Trae but Ayton showing why he was the clear #1 imo

When teams are looking for buckets, they go at Luka. He has trouble staying in front of everybody. He plays the passing lanes and gets burned more than he is successful but he has no D. Like none.

It's evident that he has flaws on that end, but he's shown that he's competent when bigger wings/stretch 4s try to post him up because of his frame and BBIQ (although the sample size is small, teams are yet to score against him on post-ups), and he's shown some basic understanding of using his body as a barricade when crashing the glass.

I definitely wouldn't say he's the worst defender in the league, at all.
