i was visiting a madden forums called "madden school" and i ran across this post/thread
"Be careful what you ask for
For years we've been asking for a real SIM football game. Congratulations EA... you did a hell of a job. This is the most realistic madden I've ever played. It is also the most boring. The defense this year is too good. This may sound like a rant of someone who can't move the ball but listen to my reasoning. The defense is so good this year you don't have to make any adjustments. Just call a stock play and it's going to be good. You don't even have to touch the sticks this year on defense because the CPU does it for you. I really liked the idea that you had to do something to adjust to your opponent. Sure some of the routes got abused and sometimes the adjustments you made didn't do much to stop it. Outs were over powered and sometimes almost impossible to stop but sometimes you'd make that user play and really turn a game around. Sure I'd get mad if a guy converted 4th and 17 but eventually you'd get the stop. The madden chess match is gone from the game this year. It looks like blitz set ups are gone too. I've gotten lots of sacks with stock blitzes. Is this good? I don't know, maybe. Should stock blitzes work or should you have to spend hours labbing them until you get the right set up? Again, who knows. All I know is that M15 isn't as fun for me as M25 was last year. I might sit this year out or just go back to M25 for another year. What do you guys think? Am I alone in my take on the game or does someone else feel like they are watching a game, instead of playing one?"
