Phantom Blade needs its black myth moment, releasing a few days before Wolverine will simply steal its shine. It needs time to gestate plus some people will hold off on purchasing it in favour of Wolverine.

the gaming community is huge, and phantom blade zero will get its moment even if wolverine comes out soon afterwards

not every game needs an isolated release so it can have its moment. if the game is good, and it looks to be, it will be appreciated regardless

not every game needs an isolated release so it can have its moment. if the game is good, and it looks to be, it will be appreciated regardless

I initially agreed with this but then I remembered the titanfall 2 release. EA fukked that up badly. So much so that a game that is generally well loved by critics and gamers may never get another entry.

i personally hate pushbacks. in 2024, we got FF7, Ronin, Stellar Blade close to each other. in 2020, wegot ff7, TLOU2 and Tsushima close to each other. These games have all done relatively well.

People will buy games that interest them. Even if they dont buy on release day, they will buy. Hell, by that logic, the game should be pushed back to next year. But what if a bigger game drops a release date close to the new pushback date? Push it back again?

If phantom blade doesnt do well it wont be because it came out days before wolverine. Personally I'll most likely get both. If you are worried, you can preorder one game, and wait a while, then buy the other on release date. There are ways of getting both games w/o breaking the bank

What I am saying is a known fact, the small fish gets out of the way of the big fish because there is a potential to lose some consumers to the big fish. This is a standard practice whether it comes to video games or movies. Releasing so soon next to a major title is not recommended despite both games being out out by Sony.

phantom blade isnt a small fish tho. This game has been promoted a ton, and will continue to get promoted. It will have its moment, bc games like those always have a market. Regardless of wolverine, PB0 will be ready to play that game.
