i dont get this shyt at all. relapse was looked down upon because it "didnt sell enough" with only 600k first week and 2 mill worldwide, with people citing the lack of singles. so he releases an album full of typical eminem radio songs, a lot of garbage since there arent any dope dre beats to save the day, names the album mmlp2 and only does 200k more first week?
200k more is a lot when its 600k to 800k...that's a full 1/3 extra from relapse first week....not to mention its 4 years later in a tougher sales climate

brehs, these sales are amazing no matter what. yes, thats an increase and its 4 years later. but recovery came out in 2010 and sold 740k first week, increasing its first week sales from relapse by 150k more just 1 year after. clearly, mmlp 2 is going to outsell both albums from the looks of it. but marshall is over 40. it would be nice to see him make a dope album with sick beats like relapse (minus the accents) and try to cement his legacy instead of trying to sell 5 more million. i know the decision might not be his and more interscopes, but i just thought with all this promo he got and naming the album mmlp2, even doing a goofy single again, he would at least go plat first week and make it worth the while.

Truth be told it is not a dead accurate number like soundscan because some of the smaller countries with no data are estimated, but it paints a picture based on all the major music markets. This data can be cross referenced with the ifpi which is official but doesnt provide sales (usually pretty close).
However, media traffic and the ifpi both show kanye outselling curtis worldwide...so their argument was based on nothing other than 50s word...which has proven to be a lie many times

Doing 792,000 first week as a Hip-Hop artist in this day and age is a win no matter how you look at it. Hell, doing 608,000 in 2009 with "Relapse" was a win in my opinion too.
