There is no reason they shouldn't do a MK Deadly Alliance storyline.
Feed off Robin Shou playing an older Liu Kang getting merked by a revived Quan Chi and Shang Tsung, then they can go into the Whole time lap storyline and then after than shoot to the future with the current MK storyline
