NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Neither. The album one is really rambling. The other one felt kinda rushed. Neither are "bad" but the flow just wasn't there to me. Flow is kinda off kilter on the Ghost track too but it works for me on there.
I feel the verse was far from rambling but that’s just me. Very dense verse imo.

I hear you. I say this all the time about post-like 2012ish Nas and this “rambling” sort of run-on sentence style flow, I know exactly what you’re saying. He wasn’t doing it as much on the Hitboy projects, but I notice on features he really leans into that shhit, 🤣.

I’m just used to it at this point, it’s kinda like Eminem and the double time shhit. I’m sure he has diehard fans who don’t love it but they’ve just come to accept it at this point.
I don’t get the rambling critique for the Rae verse at all. And he def wasn’t doing it during the Hit Boy series.

I love that verse bro, but there were little spots where he did that run-on sentence type thing he does now, I’d prefer to call it that than “rambling”, I just knew what bro meant when he called it rambling.

Yeah, he axed that shhit for the most part for the Hitboy projects for some reason, maybe it was Hitboy’s suggestion? 🤷🏽‍♂️. It sounds like he’s rapping on cruise control on those albums, which is exactly what he should have did so the production and just music in general could shine…he’s still Nas, still being great, but he was in his “jammin music” bag for that whole run. That whole shhit should be wayyyyy more praised and revered than it is….except Magic 3 😆🤷🏽‍♂️

My fault, I meant 2, Magic 2. I fux with Magic 3.

I like 2, but compared to the others it's light in the cakes, imo. I'd say it's like a C-

Yo, KD 3 is probably the most lyrical out of the bunch, besides Magic 1.

How y’all ranking Nas’s features this year?

I got…

Omertà (Rae) either verse is fire
Documents (Slick Rick)
Chandeliers (Clipse) although I don’t think they should’ve put him on a different beat
Love Me Anymore (Ghost)

I feel like I’m forgetting something :lupe:

1). Documents
2). Love Me Anymore
3). Chandeliers
4). The Omerta

Nas absolutely COOKED Documents, I think that entire song is a banger. One of my most played songs of the year.

Love Me Anymore I place 2nd because the song sampled isn’t one of my favorites (yes I know the its a classic but its never done anything for me) so the fact that the producer made me like it gives it extra points for me plus Nas was a lyrical mission to let all the Lakey The Kid’s of the world know just how much he LOATHES them and their hanger-on mind-state. Nas ain’t spit with that much disgust in his voice since Still Dreamin’.

I don’t know why people don’t like the beat switch on Chandeliers but i’ve fukked with it ever since it leaked before the album dropped. Nas spitting his braggadocios shyt letting us all know he pioneered the era of legacy MC’s being relevant, winning awards, and being at the forefront of the conversation regarding the genre’s creative resurgence is all very much his to claim.

The Omerta verse is dope but the wind kind of got knocked out of its sails a bit when the original verse leaked and was confirmed to be real lol. Both verses are dope but hearing Nas just effortlessly wash those who’ve been talking shyt on his name (whether it be Noble or Jim Jones or just any and anyone for whom the shoe fits) beats anything.

I’m REALLY looking forward to hearing what he’s got for the new Mobb Deep album, i’d love it if he was on multiple songs on that particular album. Hearing Nas over some Havoc production paying tribute to Prodigy has me hyped.

Also, @Pop123, I feel like I know what you're saying, but it was probably Hit-Boy that told Nas not to do that. Nas is on record for overthinking his verses and Hit-Boy gave him enough confidence to just go with the flow more. If it sounded like a bar, go in the booth and say it. He's going to go the more stream of consciousness route on his features because he's working with different producers and might feel the need to play with the structure more.
