There was an article and interview last fall from someone that heard the album, said Nas was on there.

Did someone say otherwise?
I didn't hear anything about it from the most recent listening session so thats why I was asking, but if post above is true he's still confirmed

Yes its real. Its a movie that Nas wrote and produced. It was supposed to be a straight to video/dvd release but Nas cancelled it.

Variety published a review in 2002

Wonder if his own mother's illness had anything to do with the cancelation of this, not completely sure of timeline but if true that is some extremely weird thing to happen

I recently copped the It Was Written vinyl and noticed the sequencing of the songs are different from the CD version.

I'm assuming they had to format certain songs to fit the vinyl or is there another reason?

Mainly I was asking because I looked at Chastain Park's website, saying it was a **concert for the celebration of illmatic which kinda made me pause.
But I'll keep a close eye on some of the earlier tour stops that he's going to make the catch a vibe to see how this concert on July 5th is going to pan out

**Nothing wrong with that, I would rather to see Nas run through more of his catalog than illmatic like when I saw him perform in Miami a few years back.

When I saw him back in 2014 he was celebrating Illmatic’s 20th and he performed the whole album and did his hits from other albums. He closed with Stay from Life Is Good.

I’m assuming maybe it will be the same this go round. But hell its NAS with a symphony! I’ll be happy whatever he performs.

Ran back IWW today, one of the densest lyrical albums ever. The number of crazy bars on there is unmatched. Suspect never even get mentioned by anyone other than hardcore Nas fans and it's full of quotables.

"Nautica down, frames look petite
Ten millies, minks designed just for my physique
I keep a low pro as if I owe, bless the flow lovely
My pants hang while I'm dancing, sipping the bubbly
Hey, me no worry, hashish keep my eyes Chinese
Rolling two Phillies together, make blunts Siamese"

This song was accidentally released when KD dropped on Amazon music. That tells me it was definitely intended to be released. I wonder what happened that they pulled it back.

I think they realized the album flows well without it.
If it was included it would have been in the middle with the "love song/soft side of the album (All Bad, Replace Me) and I think it makes the theme repetitve and maybe is one track too many to the album.
Hit said Nas intitally wanted to make a valentine's day EP and this was probably on those early sessions along with the other 2
