Why the hyphen?
Why the hyphen?
Pause but ok …not super sure I agree since the implication is futuristicIf you look at the cover for the vinyl that's a looooooooonger one, I'd assume to emphasize distance LIGHT----------YEARS, possibly duality of fire & experience, they're both seasoned vets, for Preeme might be the last BIG project, only a Jay one would make a difference really
I just bought the vinyl and the cd immediately

Random question - when did Elliott Wilson become a Nas fan? I swear for the longest he was a die hard hater. What happened?

I feel like a lot of Elliott's behavior is contingent on whose ass he's kissing. So back in 2012-2015 for instance Drake and Jay were at the top of the mountain and he seemed to relish downplaying Kendrick and Nas. It's funny how now Kendrick ran last year and Nas ran this year and Elliott been glazing both lol.
I hope the blueprint Nas laid down is followed - in and outside of hip hop. This reminds me of when Kanye was ranting about how he needed a Medici-type person to finance his art, similar to how the Medicis financed the Renaissance art period. When you're spending money to advance CULTURE you aren't driven by financial gain. There isn't much money in putting out a De La album in 2025. We need more of our titans to recognize just selling alcohol or buying real estate isn't a legacy. Culture is what lasts. Helping give the world an amazing De La album, a damn near classic Mobb Deep album. Hell, imagine the JOY in Nas' heart that comes from just being able to say "I put out a Slick Rick album." These are assets that don't depreciate. And that's why even if the Premo album wasn't coming next month Nas has to be the rap artist of the year.

I get what you’re saying but a few things.
3). Nas has also embraced being a legacy artist and seems to be ok with no longer being at the forefront of the rap zeitgeist when it comes to anything other than skill. He’s damn near anointed Kendrick Lamar as his chosen successor so maybe we as fans just need to get used to the new normal of Nas and his team not going out of their way to make his newer projects big events, although i’d argue that a Nas/Preme album deserves that treatment.

Cole is crying somewhere right about now. Lol
It's kinda funny how Cole was such a Nas stan back in the day when he was coming up but Nas never really showed him that type of love or recognition. At least not to the level Cole seemed to want.
I personally prefer Cole over Kendrick though but thats just imo. Something about Kendrick's voice annoys me.
